  1. Yes when you consider that MH carries that amount in just two quarters... I've spoken with friends & family on the ground here in Malaysia - Malindo is the last choice for them every single time. Heck, when I flew with Malindo to Taipei back in 2017, it was only because I was using an aggregator site & I found their flight to fit my needs in terms of time of arrival. If it hadn't been for that, I never would have thought that they flew to Taipei!
  2. Honestly Malindo hardly features at the top of the minds of most Malaysians. I don't think their impact to the situation is that big.
  3. Because a lot of the members here are being too lenient on the current government. Also because on my part, it is personal. I don't think you can ever understand that. In any case, one can ask the same thing about those who make so much fuss about MH management yada yada yada. Kecoh sangat buat aper?
  4. 2 airlines is not a monopoly, but it is an oligopoly. Which is just as bad. With the previous two CEOs, they had a stable & receptive government. With the current CEO, he doesn't. That's why it looks like he is quiet. Also unlike the previous two CEOs, the current CEO has been with the company way back, even before the existence of AirAsia, even before ground broke for the building of KLIA. Hence he knows the need to be careful when dealing with this government.
  5. In Malaysia Baru? How can it not be politically acceptable?
  6. That is not going to do anything. 2011 - old management ousted, new management parachuted in including several Westjet managers. 2015 - that management ousted, new management parachuted in including several Westerners. 2017 - that management decimated, now management is in the hands of locals again... Why don't you volunteer to lead MAS then?
  7. Maybe Tan Sri Aziz? He was rather vocal about MH after Mueller took over.
  8. SKS Airways is owned by SKS Group, which is under the leadership of one Alan Sim. Apparently it's JB based. https://www.sksgroup.com.my/about-us/introduction/
  9. Because he's an operator, not a flashy guy parachuted in by Khazanah. Remember, he was the MAS pilot involved in the 777 world record flight.
  10. Thankfully another miracle on the Hudson as the pilot, the sole occupant, was rescued.
  11. Nah, all that's needed for the analyst is this
  12. No way. Not gonna happen. In his dreams.
  13. More likely some cronies are looking to get some goodies from the head honcho. History repeats itself yet again!
  14. Keyword is domestic. You assume that. And you know what they say about those who makes assumptions...
  15. Senai is operated by another entity besides MAHB. How they're doing? You'd think being so close to Singapore, it could have been like Newark is to NYC.
  16. Considering how expensive the Maldives are, it's certainly not a place for budget travelers to go to. And since budget travelers don't go to Male, why would anyone who can afford it take a budget airline?
  17. And risk closure? The old man never take no for an answer...
  18. Why bother advertising then, especially on The Star Online, which is a huge traffic website costing a lot of money. I can honestly tell you, people will drop off when they see that the prices aren't as what they have written on the banner (since it's in SGD). https://imgur.com/a/soNzJFr
  19. Quick flash - Garuda, who had cancelled their 737 MAX orders, have chosen... Boeing 737 MAX 10 & Boeing 787s as a replacement. https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Companies/Garuda-to-switch-737-Max-orders-to-other-Boeing-planes2
  20. So, when will be seeing A380 flights to Cape Town/Buenos Aires? https://www.thestartv.com/v/mas-may-resume-flights-to-cairo-soon-says-tourism-minister
  21. Says nothing, really, considering that the MAX have flown thousands of hours all around the world prior to the grounding. So why isn't the problem more widespread? Why did the pilots of the last Lion Air flight prior to the crash was able to save the plane when it had the same issue?
  22. Looks like there's an opening at MAHB for Manager - Guest Advocacy (Guest Experience Governance & Planning - GX Governance). Anybody interested, especially the more vocal ones? https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/1231623023/
  23. You'll find that the YouTube account has plenty of old MH ads from the late 1990s to early 2000s. It was back when they were having Leo Burnett & the famed Yasmin Ahmad as their ad agency of choice. Explains why the 1998 Merdeka ad was Petronasesque in tone & manner, since it was made by the same creative minds.
  24. Exactly! So why are you being obtuse about gateway@klia2? Don't you get it why they needed gateway@klia2 in klia2?
