  1. Mavcom should first & foremost be an aviation watchdog looking after the interests of the passengers. In terms of aviation regulations, AOC etc, let the CAA handle it.
  2. Moot point since MAS already has clarified that there were no excess baggage issues in the first place. Their entourage checked-in together and so the entire baggage allowance was lumped under one person. I doubt it. Pretty sure someone higher up the chain of command wanted that info to leak.
  3. One can argue the same for frequent fliers who get extra baggage allowance on the account of their status, no? EDIT: MAS has issued a statement Also, both Najib & Rosmah are Enrich Platinum members apparently - which means they get 100% extra baggage allowance on top of the 40kg they're allowed as J pax.
  4. There are 24 people in that travel party. The excess baggage weight is around 535 kg. Are you telling me that each passenger has 24.3 kg of excess baggage which is carried TO Langkawi? That doesn't make a whit of sense.
  5. Not really. It will be the problem for passengers who are inconvenienced. It will be the problem for the airports which may have committed resources to serve those additional flights. So Mavcom's remit in this case is justified.
  6. Not when an airline is trying to kill its competitors by flooding the market with frequency that nobody is able to make any money from it.
  7. They can't even spend money to reconfigure their dugongs which they technically own, what more spending money to reconfigure leased planes?
  8. Well...sure you can be ticketed under one ticket, but the interline fare is not going to be cheap!
  9. You got it right from a traveler's standpoint.
  10. I remember being presented about this when I attended a training session back in my MH days. While the presenter from Network Planning didn't say much, the chart he presented says it all really - the A380 was off the charts in terms of suitability for MH.
  11. Think of it as helping the government reducing its debt. Way better for DCA/CAAM to fund themselves than depending on government funding. And definitely way better than contributing to that Tabung they just opened.
  12. He contributed to the mess, he better damn well take responsibility for it.
  13. To be fair, the marketing was planned months in advance.
  14. It's a pity one is persecuted simply because of his political beliefs. Truly sad.
  15. NUFAM is and10t. They probably think planes are bought by cash. These people don't know that if the planes don't get replaced, if people no longer wants to fly MAS because unreliability issues, they won't have a job.
  16. So even if the 787 is suitable as a replacement for the A330, they're not going to order it? Might as well shut the whole airline down now.
  17. Tony can just throw free seats & he'll come out of it unscathed.
  18. The share swap was highly beneficial for TF & AirAsia. It's a bit disingenuous to say that TF's arm was twisted in that instance.
  19. Another instance of Najib trolling the opposition. This is clearly targeted to Rafidah. Say what you want about him, he's mastering the art of troll.
  20. So basically there's a stronger justification for MAS to ditch Airbus & go all-Boeing then?
  21. Training is but a small part of the whole equation. Acquisition costs matters to be honest, so if Boeing can really hammer out incredible pricing on the 787s, I'd think any airline would take the plunge and switch. Just look at Silkair - they ditched Boeing for Airbus, and then they're back flying Boeings again.
  22. It's no different than when an American airline declares Chapter 11 bankruptcy protectioin actually. But in this case, the Act won't apply because the act is only applicable to MAS. ALC signed an agreement with MAB. But I doubt the agreement doesn't include the usual escape clauses.
  23. These is the ones owned by Penerbangan Malaysia Berhad.
