  1. Well those 2x742 (9M-MHI and 9M-MHJ specifically) before the 743 (9M-MHK) belonged to British Airways and it was NTU. So the engine choice was pre-determined by BA, hence BA customer code on the B747-236B. Do you know the political reasons behind the ditching of the RR, Mushrif?

  3. So this kind of sway or award vs. punishment is actually not unique to China then. Through the media, you can only hear the Chinese government would punish the US or Europe by purchasing either Boeing or Airbus, depending on political interests, but not other governments.
  4. If the A380s were the 747-8i... thing would have been a lot easier. They could convert them into 747-8i BCF/ BDSF and whatever (converted freighters) and sell it to the freight operators or transfer it to MASKargo. Should have ordered the 747-8i instead. **face palm!

  8. Firstly I don't really understand why seat selection and being able to be upgraded is so important? If you don't wanna pay for F and expect to get bumped from paying J class ticket, that is just plain cheap skate. Why bring other's children into the argument? And calling people woman out loud is just plain sexist and lack of respect, it is very unacceptable. When people gave you indirect answer or be sarcastic simply because we think it is not worth reasoning with unreasonable people! We do not have the power or supernatural abilities to turn stones into gold. Think of it as a kind of respect towards you, the simplest form is to go all out on you, but we reckon it is not worth lecturing others. We are kind of shy as well as we are hoping through sarcasm perhaps they will realise they are in a bit of shame and will adjust themselves a little. That of course depends on the ability, intelligence and most important of all the maturity of the subject.
  9. Craig, there were actualy an occasion where I have flown with TG's A340-600... I paid for J, but was allowed to sit in A346's F class. I was sitting in Seat 1K between SIN and BKK. There are indeed some exceptions but I believe TG was not selling the F product on regional route and A346 was about to be retired from fleet, hence they were selling them as J seats. The J and F seats were pretty full too during flight and I have gone down the aisles to check.
  10. Agreed.... To whom do they outsource the calls in the Pacific to? Vanuatu or Fiji?
  11. But isn't the A332 a bit too heavy and wasteful for regional routes? I thought the A332 was perfect for long haul with less demand routes such as AKL.
  12. First A350 in BKI? Looks great!!
  13. Cool... thanks for your input, Francis! So it turned out that the 6x A330-200s may become strays now that they have decided to keep the A388 and the incoming A350-900s? Wonder if they will eventually order the B787-9s... or they may convert those order to 737Max 8 and Max 10...
  14. Was in Changsha yesterday and saw AK's presence there. Didn't know AK flies to Changsha!
  15. It has been 3-4 years since they introduced this size and seats for both KA and CX. I remembered I was on the same seat in 2014 on my A321s and A330-300s to mainland China. They have this interior on their CX B777-300ER and long haul A330-300 since 2013/14 too. For 777-200 and 777-300 non-ERs, I believe they have the old seats for awhile... and may have changed to these seats by now. Their B747-400 and A340-300 had the old bucket style green and blue seats though.
  16. Thanks, Waiping, for sharing! Looks like I have an excuse to go to Tokyo again! Did you go into the head section of the B747? Plus the dots on Finnair A350 are not really rounded... wonder if this is done on purpose just as they do with their Finnair font or a case of poor stenciling during before the paint job. I like to think the former, but it looked a bit awkward as they are too random.
  17. Looking forward to more pics. Do they provide transport to/from the airport?
  18. Were you ticked off by my comment earlier? Thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment.
  19. I did, only about the rego sequence which began from 9M-MAB. But was not really paying attention on which registration will go on the body of the Malaysian flag bird before.
  20. MH's A350-900 standard "swoosh" livery. http://a380.boards.net/thread/1569/a350-900-msn159-mh1?page=3 Rumour has it that this bird with test rego F-WZFG (MSN159) is going to be 9M-MAB. I guess the National Flag bird with test rego F-WZHE (MSN165) is going to be 9M-MAC?
