  8. It was a day to be remembered, 15 September 2016, at the KLIA SAE Hangar. AirAsia unveiled their A320neo, 9M-NEO. This aircraft is part of their whopping 404 aircraft order powered by two new generation; CFM International LEAP-1A engines. The upgrade promise to deliver better range, lower carbon emission and imporved fuel effiencies.Malaysianwings had the privilaged to be invited by AirAsia and Malaysia Airports to cover this momentous ceremony. Part of the CFM LEAP-1A fan blade. It feels plasticky but at the same time, solid. AirAsia cabin crew is a must in all these type of functions Guest and staffs waiting for the ceremony to start We were shown the development of the A320neo program and the special colour paint process. The moment we have all been waiting for when this Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara appreared with Tan Sri Tony and Datuk Kamarudin at the back. And the A320neo followed behind all the way into the hangar. Our fellow mwinger, an AK neo engineer, was inside the neo flightdeck. And the speech formality began. Pleanty of models to go around. The neo models will be on sale soon. More to come later...

  15. Malaysianwings was invited by Japan Airlines (Asia & Oceania Region) and Malaysia Airports, to welcome JAL's B787-9 Dreamliiner. This aircraft replaces the older Boeing 767-300 begining 1st September 2016. Dubbed as JAL Sky Suite 787, it offers one of the best product in the industry, the Skytrax Best Business Class Airline Seat (2013) and the Skytrax Best Economy Class Airline Seat (2015). Here's a small coverage. You can now avoid having seats with no windows, 45A/K and 56A/K. How thoughtful of them. More to come...
  16. Raya Airways has finally standardised their 757 fonts. Looks better now. Ex-Yangtze River Express, B-5059, B733, departing for Democratic Republic of Congo under a new rego, 9Q-DOM. Wonder who is the new owner?
  17. While being escorted around, these subjests are just hard to ignore. Uni-Top, the usual nocturnal bird, is sleeping here and waiting for her next night flight. Fu Wa & Feng Yi is back in action after a long haitus. She looks quite clean...for now. Qatari has been sending a mix of 346s and 77Ws for flight QR846/7. MH's MND will be carrying this year's hajj's pligrims.
  18. Welcoming Ethiopian 787 last Wednesday and some 'test' shots before and after her arrival. KLIA is slowly welcoming more Dreamliners. Japan Airlines will be sending their 787, replacing their 767 in September. ANA will be adding another 787 flight in October and KLM replacing their morning 772 to 787 in November. Lets hope Oman Air, Uzbekistan, will send theirs in the near future. It's quite intimidating when Dugong passed us. She recently came out of mothballed and glad that MH cargo needs her services. Go Fu Wa & Feng Yi. We were surprised that Ukraine A319CJ landed on 32R instead of L. Good for us to cover her landing and long taxi guided by follow-me truck to the Bunga Raya complex

  23. MW had an invitation by KLM to cover a small event last Friday. From 23 June 2016 onwards, KLM has increased its service to KUL from 7 to 10 flights per week. The 3 additional flights depart Amsterdam under the abovementioned flight number on Thursday, Friday and Sunday and arrive Kuala Lumpur the next morning. The return flight to Amsterdam is on Friday, Saturday and Monday as flight number KL812. From 1 November 2016 onwards, KLM shall switch its equipment for these additional flights to the Boeing 787-9 (Dreamliner). Seen here PH-BQP, operating the maiden flight for flight number KL811, taxis into Gate C2. She was previously adorned with "Tile & Inspire" special colours between June 2011 - March 2012. A sad sight.
