  1. There was nothing mentioned in our meeting about the Buran. I heard the buran will be made available at the coming international aerospace exhibition at the old Terminal 1 site in Subang soon. If i am not mistaken it was in the papers not long ago. Rumours is Mr MK of MKLand is the organiser...don't quote me..MSAF is not in the know of this exhibition as yet.
  2. Some of the major events MSAF is either organising or associated with for 2007 as follows: Radio Control: 2nd June 07- Johor Bahru-Kangar RC tour 3rd/4th Nov 07- Rembau N.Sembilan Skydiving: 23rd Aug-01stSep 2007 - 11th Asiania Skydiving and Merdeka Cup Competition in Port Dickson N Sembilan (50 countries participants and openning ceremony by Yang Dipertuan Agong 25th Aug 07) Karnival Udara: 5th-7th April 07- Kelantan Royal Air Carnival Kota Bharu 30thAug-01st Sep 07- Karnival Udara Kuala Lumpur(KUKL07) Subang Paragliding: 28th April-02nd May 2007- Pedas International ParaGliding Competition- Pedas, Rembau N Sembilan
  3. Look out for Paragliding and Paramotor international competition Mount Kinabalu challenge 2007. I guess it could be around November.
  4. On most abnormal or emergency situations, the trained pilots should be able to at least send a distress message or inform the ATC via radio calls. I hope it is not the rudder jammed or reverser deployed inflight problem coz these could result in an uncontrollable or awkward attitude of the aircraft. I believe the flight path has VHF radio coverage. CFIT or controlled flight into terrain may give indication to the ATC a quiet and normal operation. Whatever it is, lets pray and hope for the best.
  5. I prefer not to crack my limited brains thinking for the rich owners where to get the pilots or aircraft. I'd rather worry about the increasing air traffic in our skies. How prepared are we of the safety hazards coming. Lets pray for the safety all of us.
  6. Correct me if I am wrong...For MAS, Sabah and Sarawak routes has always been politically influenced. I still remember the SYD-BKI, KCH-PER, KCH-TYO,..etc etc . What's the result of those flight? I do not wish to comment further....
  7. hello Gang, Thanks for the nice pic. So clear it may reveal my pimples laa....hilang hensem nanti...anyway thanks.
  8. Geng, On your next dreaming session please dream to be a good successful pilot rather than only to be one of the cadet pilot. One may be selected as a MAS or AK cadet pilot, but that does not fully guarantee him/her a successful flying carreer.
  9. Trends and statistics showed at end of the year towards late January, lots of incidents happened. The weather nowadays is not as predictable as years before; probably due to the deforestation and rapid development almost everywhere. Whatever the reasons to that is beyong our control. Safety is our supreme priority. Airport like TGG is really some challenge for airline pilots in rainy seasons especially at night. Lots of time pilots' experiences overrides textbook theories. Another contributing factor is for most narrow-bodied aircraft Captains MH or AK, their copilots are relatively new and inexperienced. As such, a less perfect combination may aggravate the difficulties and invite latent dangers. Friends, take good care this end of year. Take annual leave is the best....if you can get leave.. regards, hisham.
  10. Thank you for the warm welcome Norman and Pieter and rest of MalaysianWings staff. I hope I can get to know more aviation enthusiasts here. I am impressed with this forum and I must congratulate the owner and moderators. Well done MalaysianWings. In aviation we never stop learning and every flight is always a new experience no matter what type of flying you do. I hope to learn and share more information and experiences here. safe flights always, hisham
  11. hello all, As one of the organising committee member, on behalf of the President and all exco members of MSAF, I wish to thank all of you who have attended and supported the KUKL06. Didn't realise the Malaysian general aviation community in Malaysia is really expanding and at a good rate. For info, the Karnival Udara Kuala Lumpur 2007 will be held around Merdeka Day for 3 days and the subsequent KL air carnivals will follow during every Merdeka Days the years to come. The MalaysianWings booth was a hit. Airshows was great despite at last minute arrangement and planning. The puasa month and Raya mood/open houses slowed the planning process and preparations further. Anyway, on the whole I believe the recent KUKL06 was a sucess and a good stepping stone to gather and unite the Malaysian aviation enthusiasts and industry players. Merry Xmas and Selamat Hari Raya Eid Adha regards, Norhisham Kassim Vice President MSAF GA (non-certified aircraft)
