  1. hahaha wong..it was nice lah initially ,being a safety co..no stress..haha..but later on it gets dull wan...sitting in that cramped seat like a rotten duck..lolz.. i notice a lot of times people tend to have a large misconception about the pilot profession and they ask a lot of uninitiated questions..thats why most of the time i just say that i'm still studying in college, saves me the hassle..haha
  2. wah...safety co nightstop CGK...party hard hard also can lah..hahha the learning curve is very steep indeed..there's no room for complacency..sanjay,would advise you to work hard, stay focused,be humble and learn from your seniors..MAS is all about seniority..right khaled?
  3. oh so thats why you're being so stuck-up and defensive whenever people say 'mesti ada saudara' lah..eh sorry lah brader,my last post is supposed to be sarcastic on you lah..but dont take this as a personal attack lah...i dont intend it to be ..u just need to tone down a bit on how you present yourself and say stuff..after all, you're still only a cadet..i would not recommend you to tell every senior you meet in MAS later on that you have '10 years of experience of ********"while you're still just a kid.. peace brader~
  4. well i guess we're not naive enough to think that we can change anything in MAS by just posting in a forum lah..most of us here are either too junior in the company, cadet,or just an aviation enthusiast, except for Captain Radzi who has been with the airline for quite some time..but hey it doesn't hurt much if we just TALK about it right? i for myself started flying the B734 for nearly a year only..joined the airline as LATC(now HMA) batch 1 in december 2004..and i still consider myself VERY junior in the airline.. and hey sanjay if i'm not mistaken you're 19 this year and you have "10 years of experience" of fact finding, questions asking and what not?when some odd kid the same age who could still be sucking his mama's breasts for milk ,you're already "involved" in the aviation industry so to speak..wau..thats truly amazing lah bro.... anyway nice meeting you that day also khaled,my roster this month full of safety co flights lah...BORING ...i got leg cramps and sore backs lah when i did BKI/CAN/BKI/KCH the other day as safety co lol... eh are you a spotter ar?
  5. brennan raj,i'll consider you half right lah bro..there are 'incompetent' cadets who got into the airline because his father is a captain or what not..and i would say that there is a sizable amount of cadets who got into the programme because of that..but then, there are ones who genuinely passed all the tests w/o any 'insider' help.. on a side note,i was in maison the other day and this chap went up to my gf and introduced himself as an MAS pilot...he didn't know that she had a bf(me) and she asked him a lot of stuff about his 'career',he was stammering and then finally he admitted that he's not a pilot(cheh!),but is APPLYING to be a cadet pilot, and then he went on to say 'I can sure go in wan,my father got cables inside the company wat.." he met me later on but then i was pissed drunk.
  6. well for the really long cruises the captain could be studying the overhead panel while the F/O does the paperwork, read the papers, and monitor the flight..:-)
  7. With the quick and vast expansion of the airlines in Malaysia, all you need now would be get yourself enrolled into a flying school and get your own CPL/IR with fATPL..i dont believe age is that much of a factor with so many planes coming in...
  8. god..HMA has come a looooong way since the days we(batch 1) reported for training in HMA in 27 DEC 2004..back then, there were no Astro,no TV,no smoking,no nothing..and they had only 2 aircrafts..both TB10s..9M-HMD and 9M-HME..it was much stricter then..considering you had only 16 bunch of kids to take care of in the whole school..lol..anyway good luck to those MH cadets reporting for training..enjoy the beautiful langkawi skies....
  9. eh jason, when are you gonna belanja me makan lah...after so long then only see you...now graduated already somemore..hehe
  10. i sure hope it's the NGs..because it would only mean differences training for the 734 boys in MH..if it's A320,*gulp*.....i dont want to go back to ground zero and start all over again
  11. ahh..the romance of flying..
  12. if i'm not mistaken, the basic salary of a cabin crew member starts from about rm1k..for a narrowbody cabin crew member, aka 737/A330,he/she can expect to take home on average rm2500-rm3000 per month.or even slightly lesser depending on the amount of nightstops he/she gets..now for the CC on the widebodies,i heard they take home on average rm4-5k per month..but i'm not too sure about this.. when you come down from the widebodies to be an LS or LSS on the narrowbodies, your pay drops..as you lose out a lot on meal allowances..so you see, meal allowances play a big role in our salaries..
  13. well let me post this here..hope it helps the starting pay(take-home pay) for a 737 S/O is around rm7-9k per month, plus and minus the allowances,taxes,epf,etc..as you upgrade yourself to the widebodies, you can expect rm13-14k for an A330 co-pilot..while rm15-17k for a 777 or 744 co-pilot..now after you have reached a certain seniority level, you will be promoted to be a 737 captain..and your take-home pay is actually slightly lesser than what you're earning as a senior F/O in 777 or 744..as you lose out a lot on the meal allowances..plus you will fly less on the 737 compared to long haul widebodies..average salary for a 744 captain would be around rm30-35k per month..but only the most senior pilots are 744 captains..which means you will need many many years to become a 744 captain in MH.. but then again, this might be cliche..but what the heck..money isn't everything..the best happiness in life is the fact that you're doing the thing you LOVE for a living.. cheers!
  14. you guys can imagine the pressure we face everyday..with so many lives in our hands..
