  1. Let's give them a couple of years for it to resolve... assuming they do meet.
  2. Quoting Alif, is there a master plan for WBKK from MAHB? I doubt there is one... A lot of things in KK are planned only for the short term/short-medium term. The lack of planning is all reflected on our existing infrastructures in KK City, massive queues to and out of the city due to the increase in car ownership, exposed open space where more trees could be planted for shades etc etc. When a lot of developed countries are looking into 15-20 year plans we are still implementing 5 year plan for the country. I guess it's easier to have 'donations' with short term 5 year plan. These short plans become nice targets to benefit certain groups, and not for the benefit of the nation and her people. This saga of AIrAsia not moving to T1 will no doubt continue, and I foresee AirAsia to remain in T2 for a considerable amount of time. Cost is sensitive to them, so they will rather stay in cattle class T2 than the costlier T1. If they want to develop their own terminal Sabah Gov has said they will need to talk to Federal about it. Lots of hot air and no action. And as I type this power is still not restored at work for more than an hour. Well done SESB.
  3. second plane part found suspected to be door of an aircraft http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-33750811
  4. I don't see how this matter can be resolved soon. AA has their point about them looking into a further long term plan, and I totally agree that MAHB however like other services have a no long term planning and only do first then sort out later attitude, and hence no long term sustainable growth. It's the same for the country's policies really. So expect AA to stay put in T2 even though MAHB wants them to move to T1. Yes T2 is in a bad state - air con virtually not working, lack of places to sit and long queues outbound and inbound. But people still take AirAsia! I also agree that T2 can't be expanded anymore - and it really is retarding AA's growth and the tourism industry. There is many hot air but no concrete resolutions to this KKIA issue, sad. Our airport's potential isn't fully tapped.
  5. not sure where to post... hope it's ok to post it here http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2015/07/28/AirAsia-staying-put-KK-T2/ Not surprised by the news that the red one prefers to stay put in KKIA T2... MAHB isn't doing enough to help them it seems, both at KLIA2 and now at WBKK.
  6. And here is to hoping more better improvements to come for MAB.
  7. Brilliant... ! Those ponds are what defines KLIA2 They didn't do first things first - examine how strong the soil is prior to building something expensive on top of it ! Always the key - do things at the right order.
  8. Ok finally it is out. At least they did publish it to the public and not keep it among their circle. Hm.. no wonder CIMB man Nazir called to enhance English language. Civil servants are too BM orientated, so English not being their first language they will make mistakes and the report doesn't flow too well but it's still readable. I guess the report reflects where our Nation's English level is right now. And I have a feeling that level is going downhill in the future.
  9. From airlineroute.net MAB will operate B772 to Guangzhou CAN starting 010915, instead of A333.
  10. With Raya near the corner.. I wonder whether any MAS wide bodies will be coming in to WBKK for the next fwe days?
  11. Hm at least not cancelling the Narita route. So there goes MH384/385 then. I wonder what will happen to Shanghai PVG and Taipei TPE. No news = intact totally? Perth was initially 1x weekly and then another added, so now back to 1x weekly which may suggest it could be sustained. Guess that route is given the benefit of the doubt,
  12. 9m-FYA is a AT75 with a mode s transponder, the pilots are free to key in whatever call sign they want compared to their ADSB counterparts ie AT76/air asia's fleet of A320. The reason why we can see it has a call sign hanumi is because of mutilple flightradar24 receivers at different locations are able to get a fix based of MLAT calculations. Something like getting one's location via a ping to their mobile phone with the help of communications towers.
  13. wow! different kind of views - love the MasWings ATR final approach on Runway 02!
  14. Very sad past few days for us... Hope all victims rest in peace and their family stay strong. Very heartache for those young Singaporeans school children who lost their lives along with the teachers and guides. And of course 6 of our own Malaysians and the mountain guides.
  15. 9M-NAB just landed and parked at T2.
  16. Singapore Air Force SAF6529 C130 ( I think) is approaching WBKK (on descend now) with the parents of the Tangong Pagar Primary School & medical team with other supporting staffs due to head to Kinabalu Park. 11 fatalities for now & 1 is believed to be a young Singaporean girl. sad day...
  17. thanks Jahur for the shots.... wasn't able to catch either of them yet hope to be able to see the B777 this coming sat.
  18. Airfast Indonesia MD83 PK-OCS approaching to WBKK now heading to final approach of runway 02. On another matter, POB for this morning's B777 trip to KL was 280, so load is good. No idea about the load to WBKK though.
  19. Yes, there is a change in plane type end of May and early June for some flights regionally and domestically. See this post here : http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18291&p=354856 On another matter, a Bell Ranger 206 helicopter crashed near intersection Juliet aroundt 0350Z at WBKK. Pilot believed to be a female trainee is safe but unsure of POB, but from liveatc recording it seems everyone who is in the chopper is safe. Thank God for that.
  20. Too busy with discussion about possible move from BKI T2 to T1 and it is still dragging on and on... perhaps they will just stay at T2.
  21. Based on Khazanah's 12 point MAS recovery plan in A1b : Migrate the relevant operations, assets and liabilities of OldCo to NewCo by 1 July 2015. The quarterly progress update released in 2 March still states 1 July 2015 as well. So should be 1 July 2015... Unless I missed something from my search. 22. I am aso wondering about that. just an assumption, maybe plan to reduce B738 numbers by selling them or sell and lease back? But good to see widebodies coming to BKI. I think the school holidays is also a factor for the equipments switch.
  23. lovely... rare to see big jets now in KK so good to see one around.
  24. From FR24, A340 departed WMKP i think under 2 hours ago now at South China Sea near Natuna should be heading back to Brunei.
  25. 2 FR24 receivers activated around Kuching and WBGG3 is giving good range especially towards the sea, WBGG2 not bad too.
