S V Choong 4 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Found this article but it is written in Chinese: http://www.atchinese.com/index.php?option=...=7780&Itemid=32 I haven't have the time to translate it but hopefully someone here will. The article basically talk about how Airbus wanted to come up with a supersonic commercial a/c, which seats 250 passengers, cruising speed of 2400km/h and range at 9600km and hoping to have it in service by 2015. Y. J. Foo 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Original English version of this news: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,...1796151,00.html It believes that rapid growth in the aviation market means that by 2050 there could be demand for supersonic travel on hundreds of long-haul routes. Corinne Marizy, an Airbus researcher, told a conference at Cambridge University last week that by 2050 supersonic travel could account for 10% to 20% of flights. I personally don't think supersonic planes can be that success unless it's cost-effective enough to combat with A380 or other planes...which could take several years... But still, it'd be a new era if new supersonic planes are fast and effective as well as environment-friendly.
