Royal Brunei B788 near Manila on Oct 21st 2015, engine shut down in flight

Recommended Posts

Looks like more than an isolated incident.

Whole fleet temporarily grounded, major disruption (for a small airline like BI) and 787 flights cancelled over next few days!

Now I wonder if the ripple effects can be felt worldwide...

I guess it is a big relief though :

1) no one has been hurt

2) it's past 'back to uk for school opening/registration' peak travel period (especially for Sabahans)

:)

I'm guessing there will be a lot of re-routing pax with other airlines in the coming few days

Scoot were also experiencing some technical issues yesterday:

Scoot flight TZ 288 scheduled to depart Kaohsiung to Osaka at 12:15 PM (local time) on 27 Oct 2015 has been grounded due to a technical fault. Scoot’s maintenance service provider in Taiwan does not have the replacement part in stock, and the part needs to be obtained from Singapore, which necessitated the aircraft to be grounded overnight.
