JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 An aircraft of Royal Thai Air Force carrying 15 crew members skidded off the runway into a ditch at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday morning, injuring at least three. Confirming the incident, airport’s control-tower officials said they gave the pilot necessary instructions during landing but, at one stage, the plane skidded off the runway. The injured were given first aid after a team from Shahjalal Airport rescued them just after the plane crash. Later, the airport authorities handed over the crew to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab). The ATR-72 aircraft from Bangkok touched down at the Dhaka airport at 8:51am. Primary apprehension is that the pilot lost control because of a crosswind, said airport sources concerned.
