Self Transfer at BKK

Recommended Posts

Guys - If a pax (with no checked luggage) arrives in BKK on AK or FD and wishes to immediately connect to a legacy carrier (obviously one has to self-connect), is the pax arrival flow from either LCC the same as if one had arrived on a legacy carrier and will be able to pass by the transfer desks airside?

Appreciate some practical advice/ experience.

As long as you don't have checked in luggage, you should be able to checkin at the air-side transfer desk except LCC as LCC don't have airside transfer desk.

Yes, but there are two transfer areas - transfer east and transfer west. Not all airlines are at both east and west - get the correct one, get your BP and from there go up one floor via escalator to security and airside departures.

Thanks SG & KKL. Just want to be sure that pax arriving on LCCs are not directly funneled into arrivals with no chance of getting to the airside transfer desks.

Suggest you not to mention that you arrived by LCC else AOT staff may insist you to checkin at landside and pay airport tax.

The pax would have paid airport tax anyway, as the legacy carrier ticket would have originated from BKK.
