AirAsia Calcutta To Phuket Direct

 

According to published reports Thai AirAsia will commence direct flights between Phuket and Calcutta India by the middle of next year.

 

The airline started flights between Bangkok and Calcutta last December and found that many leisure travellers were then flying on direct to the island destination.

 

After conducting an in-house survey of passengers it was estimated that over 45% were ultimately headed for Phuket.

Madras to Chennai actually. Calcutta,Bombay and Madras were the names given by the British colonialist,so the Indian govt decided to change back to their original name respectively.

Madras to Chennai actually. Calcutta,Bombay and Madras were the names given by the British colonialist,so the Indian govt decided to change back to their original name respectively.

 

 

Mumbai / Bombay never did have any Hindi name cause it was established by the British Raj.Anyway,its just like some Korean cities being rename ie Pusan - Busan, Kwangju - Guanju,Kunsan - Gunsan

Good news for Indians as they now have the buying power to holiday overseas. Our AK plane from CCU last night was full of holidaying families with kids.
