You will have to disembark, claim your luggage and check-in for your next flight. It is advisable to have have 3-4 hours between flights so as not to miss your connection. I once missed a 'connecting' domestic flight because the initial AK flight got delayed. (BKI->KUL->PEN). AK considered the 2nd flight as a 'no-show'!! So mean...
