Denny Yen 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2010 The European Aviation Safety Agency issued an emergency airworthiness directive for all RR Trent 900 series engines used on Airbus A380s saying a deep seated oil fire is the suspected cause of the engine disintegration that imperilled QF32 on 11/4. Mohd Suhaimi Fariz 2 Report post Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) It is more a development of the RB211. So, if the Trent's a development of the RB211 does the same thing apply to the RB211 on Qantas 747 since an engine problem also occured on their 747 out of SIN after the A380 incident? flee 5 Report post Posted November 12, 2010 RR has already said that incident is unrelated. As such a similar directive was not necessary.
