Hi everyone,

The City of Perth hosted a special fly in at Langley Park on the city's foreshore yesterday 7th November 2009.

The fly-in was in honour of Australia's first lady of aviation the late 'Nancy Bird Walton' & to celebrate the

flying achievements of women in aviation.

The fly in attracted 15 aircraft (7x military & 8x civil types) 1 glider, and 3 helicopters.

Is this a yearly event?

Nah..the last fly-in was in 2004 but the open space was also used as a temporary airfield for the Red Bull Air Race from 2006-2008.
