  1. Attached to the CVR & FDR is an ULB - underwater locating beacon. Only transmits when in contact with water. The ELT works both underwater & on ground.
  2. Even with the code with someone still in the cockpit, he/she can override this code as there is a time delay before electrical latches get released. Overheard some people discussing a possible CFIT. Opinions please?
  3. You can view them here: http://www.aviationwa.org.au/aircraft-photos-movements/september-2014/ Photos credit to Keith Anderson.
  4. If you have noticed, the only places which were reported to have been sinking are only those with the underground fuel pipelines. Same finding when assessed by Ikram consultation. But who cares as MAHB mentioned that it only affects 1% of the terminal right?

  6. Alternatively, you can still check-in via the AirAsia mobile app. Once checked in, you can proceed to queue at the respective counters to get your boarding pass printed by flashing the QR code to the guest service on duty.
  7. TF said earlier last month that the move to klia2 will open up a new market for AK - the business travellers. I doubt he is looking into offering premium seats and stuffs as of yet until they can study the effectiveness of getting the business travellers to use AK now onwards. The KUL-SIN-KUL market is already filled with some amount of business travellers, but trying to tap the market for the other sectors will be very challenging. For now he will only be concentrating on ancillary income (min RM50 per pax) to offset the losses in the other areas.
  8. If MAB really wants to clear the air right now, best that they disclose the findings from Ikram Consulting. On the whole, they gave the green light but there were many findings mentioned in there which wasn't even reported at all.
  9. Nothing new. If you're in LCCT on a daily basis, see for yourself the average time a foreigner has to be in queue before it is his/her turn for immigration clearance. They just decided to screw it up big time yesterday by only placing 4-5 staffs to man the foreign passport counters. A very usual situation in many govt departments - JPJ, Immigration, Pos Malaysia. There is always someone "else" to be blamed, anywhere.
  10. Made a site visit yesterday. Terminal is huge and there are still work being done and yet to be completed. Just a point to all of you to be early irregardless of whether you're travelling on the 2nd or 9th. There's quite a lot of walking to do, with very little walkalators and even if installed, they are only about 50-100metres in length. A simple panorama taken atop the skybridge.
  11. And even then, the TPIS (tyre pressure indicating system) is an option on the Airbus and it is solely up to the operator to take it or not.
  12. Unfortunately for that press release by Airbus, the A350 wasn't the attraction. Way to go "aunty" Kwek!
  13. OY-RUE (MD-83) is scheduled to arrive today. Still unsure if it is going to land in KUL or SZB from Vietnam for the FIFA world cup trophy tour in KL. It will be here in KL until the 5th.
  14. http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Regional/2013/12/23/Nuri-RMAF-copter-crash-pulau-perak.aspx Reported to be from the 3sqn.
  15. Was told GS for 32L was u/s. Things have been rectified as for now. There have been massive diversions to PEN, JHB, SZB.

  18. Quoted from TheStar's report. Why did they have to play around with the names of the three involved? Poor reporting if you ask me.
  19. Here's a very informative breakdown which you might not be able to see on TV stations or even in the newspapers. http://flyingprofessors.net/what-happened-to-asiana-airlines-flight-214-2/
