  1. It certainly is the worst airport in Asia that I have to travel through, even the Indian airports have been replaced/refurbished. Radzi, don't worry, the guys in NAI are still standing behind you with a piece of toilet paper in one hand and the other out for a tip!
  2. Just heard from a friend who was on last night's MH001 from LHR that the 747 had to turn around and re-land at LHR after about an hour into the flight due to problems with two engines. Is this just due to age? Or poor maintenance? Or is it just one of those things that happen from time to time? I've heard of (and been on) planes having trouble with one engine, but two at time? Hope he manages to get back for Hari Raya!
  3. He he, I've just had a look at getting my daughter a flight LHR - KUL - LHR on F over Christmas and if I book her return to LHR on MH2 on 7 Jan, the number of Enrich points (just for that sector, not the outbound) is 340,000! Sorry my daughter, you'll be flying Y again.
  4. Judging by the number of complaints on other forums from BA and QF frequent fliers regarding the difficulty of redeeming their points for flights, there could well be an influx! I'v never had a problem with redeeming my Enrich points for flights on MH and I hope the situation doesn't change when MH joins One World!
  5. But in those days you could turn up 30 mins before an international flight and still get on; no worries about waiting in a security queue for hours! Also, there were smoking sections and the book selection at the store in the airport wasn't all about 'self help'. ........................am I getting old??
  6. Agree, before the 'maintenance' points for flights were credited almost immediately (at least within 1 day). Since its come back on line, no points have been credited to my account for flights taken last week, nor can I see any improvement in the service of the site. Is this SITA making a mess of things again?
  7. A quick question on the Enrich website; it was down last weekend for "maintenance" but now its available again, has anyone noticed any difference??
  8. Some great pictures there and I'm looking forward to flying on it later in the year to LHR. I did see the plane on Tuesday as we taxied out on MH784 to BKK; I'd much rather be on the A380! A lot has been mentioned of the legroom, however, for me the best part of the A380 (economy anyway), is the width. The old 747 have a seat width of 17" whereas the A380 has a width of 19" (at least the SQ flight I took last week to LHR does). These couple of inches provide a much more comfortable ride, especially on a long haul flight. No more elbow wrestling with your neighbour!
  9. Indeed, the flagship lounge in the satellite terminal needs an update and I will happily suffer the alternatives for the next few weeks. Hopefully, it will be a lounge that all MH travellers (and associates) will be proud of. Hopefully it won't be like the MH LHR T4 lounge is like, as someone has suggested, as I was there last Sat and it is threadbear, the food is poor, the old Filipino guy behind the bar has gone (or was it his day off? I certainly hope so!). The new lounge has to be a major selling point for MAS.
  10. Does this mean we might actually get our new Enrich cards before they expire at the end of March???? Doubt it some how and we'll have the same perennial problems of trying to check in at outstation airports and having over officious check staff telling us 'you can't check in here your card's expired'! OK, rant over. Let's hope that there will be a renaissance of the Enrich programme!
