  1. Testing will never end until someone or the sun says 'STOP'. Hehe..... Bravo Viktor Bravo..... http://www.airliners.net/photo/KLM---Royal/Boeing-777-306-ER/1518075/L/&sid=4331f7fea3cb58027af26522cb204c28 I shot this babe about 4.5 years ago. At that time she was roughly a year old. She looked new and it was her first landing in KUL if I remember correctly. She looks tired now with her livery fading. She is becoming like her siblings at Air France. Dirty. And she has a new logo.....
  2. Huhuhu.......nose shots. Yeah......
  3. Testing still not over yet..... I have been waiting for years to capture this one especially its fat nose...... Wuhuuu, finally...... Wuhuuu, long live fat nose.......
  4. I still remember some of the discussion during the Safety Briefing at MAHB that morning:- MAHB: You only take Biman k!! ONLY BIMAN K!! Hahaha........ Us: Ok sir...... MAHB: You are not allowed to smoke but you are allowed to bring your food and drink and make sure you bring back the waste items k!! We don't want to have FOD (Foreign Object Debris). Us: Ok sir. But sir, we need to be at the location say 45 mins or an hour to prepare. And we need to set up our camera before the arrival and so we may have to take photos of aircraft to ensure perfect setting..... MAHB: Ok no problem. You can do so. You can enter 1 hour or so before the arrival. Our security vehicle will wait at the guard post and will lead you to the location. Hehehehe........ Testing and compare notes in progress. No time for pep talk.....
  5. Cheers Sam. Hehe, its been a while....
  6. While my colleague was snoring at the terminal, we were busy 'testing'...... With attractive pricing, lots of MH's passengers defect and fly with this one for the European run. After all, its One World maaa........
  7. News Biman News Dear Customer, There has been a lot of interest lately from press, aviation enthusiasts and the general public, on what will be happening with Biman’s last DC10s, which will be phased out in the coming months with the arrival of new aircraft. These are the last flying passenger DC10-30 aircraft in the whole world. So I thought I would take this opportunity to brief you with the latest news, which will be updated when further firm news becomes available. Biman currently has 2 DC10-30s flying. As their fuel consumption is higher than other aircraft in our fleet, they are used sparingly. One of those DC10s will come to the end of its economic life on 10th November 2013 (today), and will be scrapped locally. The last DC10 will continue normal flying until 7th December 2013, the start of the revised schedule for the fog period here in Dhaka. Thereafter, it will only be used as a standby aircraft, in case another aircraft in our fleet become unserviceable for any reason. We will not be scheduling it on any route though. This last DC10 will continue as a standby aircraft until sometime in February 2014. The exact date is not known yet, as it is being coordinated with the arrival of our brand new B777-300ER aircraft from Boeing. We expect to know the exact date in early January 2014. The last DC10 is being donated to a museum in the USA, a fitting end for an aircraft that has served Biman loyally and well over many year. Accordingly, we will then offer for sale, as a last opportunity to travel on a passenger DC10, anywhere in the world: a. Seats on a last flight Dhaka to Birmingham (UK). Note this will need a technical stop somewhere. b. 2 (or more if demand requires it) one hour ‘scenic tours’ to/from Birmingham c. We are unsure if the US authorities will give us traffic rights on the Birmingham to USA sector. If they do, this will also be offered for sale. d. We are also discussing with the UK POost Office, about the carriage of ‘Last day Covers’ on the last sector Birmingham-USA, for sale at a later date. Tickets will only be sold via our website, hopefully from early January, so do not buy tickets elsewhere, we want these tickets to go to genuine aviation enthusiasts. If there is a demand for more ‘scenic tour’ flights at Birmingham, we can consider these too. We hope you will join with us in celebrating the farewell of a loyal, beautiful aircraft, but also to recognize that the time has now come for Biman to equip itself with the very latest in new aircraft and technology. Kevin Steele MD & CEO I took this from Biman's website.
  8. Testing testing. Weather was unexpectedly friendly.
  9. Biman three holer was expected to arrive at 1545. We had 90 minutes to so called 'set up' and 'test our' gear. Hmmm....... I 'tested' my gear by taking this video. One of the 'thousands' of Emirates' triples, this one a Melbourne-bound, dropping by to steal MH's passengers on the Kangaroo run. They are really good at what they do.
  10. Ya laa Kwek. I think in this discipline, KLIA is ahead of your Changi. Hehehehe........ And our driver was MdSalleh, the spotter king of SZB. He regretted to play such role as he couldn't spot while driving. Keh keh keh.....
  11. We entered KLIA at around 2pm in our vehicle. We drove straight to substation building at 32L facing the hangars. We had to pass through cargo area and the hangars. Hehe.... Upon arriving at the spot, I took this picture. No obstruction this time and MAHB Security left us to ourselves. Yay! For your information, we split into two groups. One group covered the landing and take off and the other group stationed at the satellite gate.
  12. Not so clear weather. But I am happy to get the nose finally. Hehe....
  13. Norman and Gavin!! Clean shots! We are back in business!
  14. good shot guys!! cheers!!
  15. Thank you Mir! Yes VP-BEL was there when i took the night shots. May be gone by now. Busy bays. But most occupants went to bed. Ground check for Xray Alpha with all lights being tested before she dozed off. Cheers!
  16. Few more. Yup, that's a new kid on the block (Sierra Echo) spotting different WAU. I was lucky that night.
  17. Just noticed the video....Simon. That is a good video.
  18. Post-haze. Hands got itchy.
  19. Manual settings for night shot remain subjective. Smaller aperture, longer shutter speed. Larger aperture, shorter speed. To start with, try aperture at 6 and speed at 8 secs. Adjust accordingly after trying as its near impossible to get first shot right. Keep ISO low say 250 to 400. ISO can remain low even at night as long as the speed is long. And a cloth to cover the lens from reflection. Cheers!
  20. Wuhuuuuuuuu NOSE!!! Yeah......
  21. Jian Cheng, cover the lense with cloth. It works... And choose Manual on your DSLR.
  22. Yup agreed Firdaus. Here's another one on the right side of MTB.
  23. Hehehe....cheers TK. Morning weather that day was superb. Wind was calm....
