  1. There's a reason why the accident is under investigation. They don't know what happened!
  2. The staff has passed away. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2019/03/19/mahb-worker-injured-in-subang-airport-accident-passes-away/
  3. I don't know, looking at social media comments you could have fooled me. True (I for one don't care), but most do.
  4. All's well and good, and I definitely agree with many of the points. But the problem is... ...Malaysians. Malaysians will raise a stink if MAS were to rip the Business seats from their cabins. Malaysians will raise a stink if they don't offer SQ level service at AirAsia prices. Remember how many here raised a fuss when MAS started to use the 737 on longer regional routes? How they bemoan the fact that on other airlines they can fly on widebody jets etc etc etc. Funny thing is, these same Malaysians are now calling for MAS to be shut down. It's simply mind boggling!
  5. Previously it was 19,000 - 20,000. So it's not back to its previous strengths.
  6. And MAS doesn't? As for pricing, do they?
  7. Or maybe they're just cheap. Having flown on one ME3 airline before I certainly don't see the "wow" factor on any of my flights with them. This is why I don't think it's fair for them to moan & groan about "taxpayers" money down the tubes.
  8. Therein lies the problem. Malaysians raising a stink about their taxes going down the drain bailing out MH, but flock to the ME3 & SQ whenever they need to fly to destinations MH serves.
  9. I don't know, you tell me. TF was in the exact same position and he took they plunge, now he's being put up on the pedestal as a symbol. If you believe that your idea is strong, surely the returns you'll get would be worth your while.
  10. I've no problems with expressing opinions. I just wondered if those who are so opinionated about the airline is able to turn their opinion into reality. Obviously action speaks louder than words. There's an opportunity here, what with Khazanah considering their options about MAS. So why not grab it?
  11. Hence why I proposed for armchair CEOs to step up the way Tony did. Otherwise it's all talk and no action.
  12. As if that's going to soothe the naysayers.
  13. FFPs make money by charging merchants who offer miles to customers, like banks offering exchanges for credit card points. At least that's what I was told by my old colleague in Enrich.
  14. And that's the magic word - small. Can the same be said if it was scaled up?
  15. The irony is most of those stories were from the era of the current PM, the same one that's talking about selling/shutting down the airline. Problem is, armchair CEOs never seem to be able to find the solution for this problem other than closing it up. So, armchair CEOs - who will step up and be the next Tony Fernandes that will turn around MAS? Stand up and make your voice heard!
  16. What the new people in Khazanah and the new government failed to realize is that the conditions for the turnaround wasn't exactly ideal. 2015 was the start of the weakening of the emerging markets, including Malaysia. This bump on the road made it a much more challenging to achieve the desired results. Even AirAsia had an up & down financials over the past 4 years, so it's not merely an MAB thing. Honestly this is nothing more than political posturing.
  17. Why ETIHAD, when across the runway FROM MAB HQ there's one guy with a red hat just itching to get rid of a competitor... You could say that buying MAB would be his "national service", to atone for his "sins" of supporting the other side prior to May 8.
  18. I don't think so, given that the FAA should & would know better seeing as they're the ones who certified it, and has a conduit to the investigation via the NTSB.
  19. Politicians talking nonsense as usual. Investigators haven’t even finished the investigation over the FIRST 737 MAX crash. The jury is still out on the issue of the MAX’s airworthiness. And it’s especially too early for MAS to relook or reconsider the MAX order.
  20. As if the issues can't be dealt with simultaneously. Come on, the platform takes only ONE month to build. Do you really think that this is going to stop them from dealing with the other issues?
  21. Just because you don't pay income tax doesn't mean you're not taxed! Sales tax, excise tax, import tax etc etc etc...
  22. Nothing personal, just not tricked by his reality distortion field. I've walked from gateway@klia2 (train/car park lift) to the main terminal. I honestly don't get how that kind of distance is considered to be "far". Are Malaysians so lazy to walk? Also I do remember going through duty free after immigration & security in TPE, SIN, LHR, SEA, LAX & IAD (though in the case of the three American airports, their shops are limited). I'd like to think so. After you people stranded me for 6 hours at klia2 because the flight got cancelled and then not bother to inform my travel party - and even had the gall to charge us because we changed our destination from LGK to PEN - I make it a habit to fly AirAsia only as a very last resort. In fact one of the only ways I'd fly AirAsia first is if I get a free ticket from my BIL. Looking at this video I can see AirAsia personnel there, so to blame MAHB solely for the baggage drop issue is a fallacy
  23. Not the airport operator's fault that the airlines aren't efficient. As opposed to passing through a shopping mall after security? Doesn't make it any better to be honest. You do realize that other airports duty free areas etc are just like shopping malls? Besides, I honestly find the complaints about having to go through a shopping mall to be nothing more than whining to be honest - if you're dropped at the departure hall, it's only a short walk from the shopping mall to the check-in desk. Even if you're parked at the parking lot, it's not like you have to walk from one end of One Utama to the other, or one end of Midvalley to the other, to get to the check-in desk. As for the PSC, it's because of the shopping mall that the PSC is not much, much higher. That PSC may have been reasonable for the shed that is the LCC, but it's certainly not suitable for klia2. If they feel inconvenienced, it doesn't matter if it's 1 aircraft or 10, they will complain.
  24. Check-in areas are designed tightly because of the notion that LCCs would want to push their customers to do online check-in. The airlines should really work together in order to encourage more pax to check-in online. Passengers going through retail outlets help fund airport operation. The more they spend, the more money MAHB earn. PSC alone doesn't pay for the airport operations. As for the confusing floor layout, blame WCT - they do the same thing at Paradigm Mall which they built & operate. Again, it's design so that people spend more time elsewhere rather than waiting at the gate for way more than necessary. Airports want to maximize pax spends as much as they can in order to get as much revenue as possible. Tony only cares about what Tony wants, to be honest. If it's true that MAHB aren't interested in listening to gripes from the airlines, how come everybody else aren't making a big fuss?
  25. No it's not. T1 is in dire need of a refurbishment. Until then klia2 is better in my book.
