  1. Flee, you chose a great time to come up to Penang for spotting. Tracked a few heavies departing today including the Royal Australian Air Force's A332 MRTT. You managed to catch it? It departed from Butterworth RMAF airport and did a touch and go before landing at PEN.
  2. Very heavy rain and strong winds at PEN. Wonder whether it was the cause of this go around?? Ended up landing on runway 22 instead of runway 04.
  3. Here are some from the spotting session yesterday. IMG_5380 by sslee86, on Flickr Thai Airways A300B4-622R (HS-TAX) Just my luck perhaps? The day I went for spotting was the day they used a 773. Not complaining though as I've never caught a 777 departing before IMG_5435 by sslee86, on Flickr Cathay Pacific B777-367 (B-HNN) And for the usuals into Penang IMG_5472 by sslee86, on Flickr SilkAir A320-233 (9V-SLG) IMG_5521 by sslee86, on Flickr Tiger Airways A320-232 (9V-TAQ) IMG_5536 by sslee86, on Flickr AirAsia A320-216 (9M-AQB) IMG_5590 by sslee86, on Flickr MAS B737-4H6 (9M-MMY) IMG_5625 by sslee86, on Flickr Another tiger, this one with stripes (9V-TAV) IMG_5681 by sslee86, on Flickr Firefly ATR72-600 (9M-FIA) And to conclude, may I declare the unofficial Penang FedEx Day IMG_5493 by sslee86, on Flickr The first was an MD-11F (N589FE) IMG_5573 by sslee86, on Flickr Second was another MD-11F (N610FE) IMG_5656 by sslee86, on Flickr Third was a A300-600F (N721FD) That's all. Thanks for viewing.
  4. Gosh, all the more reason for me to go and catch the CX 744. Anyway, manage to catch it using a point and shoot. Please excuse the quality. Apparently it is coming in again later at approx 7pm-ish. So which means there is a good opportunity to catch that 744 tomorrow at about 750AM (CX692). Will not be able to get it tomorrow. Hope it comes again during the weekends.
  5. Like the Firefly by the building. By the way, does anyone know when next year's LIMA would be? Or even an estimate of the date? Planning to make a trip there. Thanks
  6. 7. You will be able to choose the size of the photo to be uploaded here as well.
  8. Hi Raymund, I got two, 9V-SLQ and 9V-SLR. I presume you were in SLQ as Sriwijaya Departed before SLR arrived. Here's both of them IMG_4882 by sslee86, on Flickr SilkAir A320 (9V-SLQ) - A bit blurry as I lifted the camera above my head as high as I could to avoid the fence IMG_5241 by sslee86, on Flickr SilkAir A320 (9V-SLR)
  9. Thanks flee, peter. I gotta try my luck some other time to get that CX 744. I myself too was surprised when I saw the Sriwijaya Livery. This is the third "version" that I have seen, and the first time on a 737-500.
  10. A very interesting day at the airport this morning. Was really excited when I caught a glimpse of the extra engines on the wing while it was rolling down the runway. From all the time I've been spotting, CX only operates 330s or 777s in/out of Penang. IMG_4837 by sslee86, on Flickr Royal Air Force C-17A Globemaster III (ZZ178). Yet another rare sight at Penang International Airport. 13. Wow, nice close ups Laurie. I have seen UPS's 767 quite a number of times but not lucky enough to catch one with winglets. By the way was the guy in 9M-HMW using his cellphone while flying ? Probably taking pics I guess.
