  1. -XXU now back in service after being parked since February 2022.
  2. https://flic.kr/p/2nNS9LW Credit to the original photographer. Looks like -LRL will be delivered in the same livery as -LRK. Once again there already so much inconsistency in the Batik/Malindo fleet.
  3. Be interesting to see if 9M-LRL, M and P are reconfigured into a 2 class layout as they are currently listed as having a Y180 cabin, which I believe the recently delivered -LRK features. 9M-LRG, H and J are their only current flying 737-8’s which feature a 2 class C12Y150 cabin in addition to those 3 random 738’s they’ve retained.
  4. Another new entrant into the Batik/Malindo fleet is B38M 9M-LRK which was ordered by Lion Air as PK-LQR but was ntu, so she’s a 3 year old factory fresh 737-8 flying around in a mostly all-white livery with the Y180 Lion Air cabin.
  5. Looks like the controversially reconfigured -MXV has finally re-entered service this morning on a KL-TWU-KL rotation. Does anyone know what they ended up doing with the J class cabin/seats?
  6. 737-8 9M-LRQ ex PK-LQJ appears to of entered service this afternoon on a KL-KCH-KL rotation, believe she wears the full Batik livery same as the factory fresh examples.
  7. Hi jahur, any idea which frames will be transferred across to FY?
  8. Another addition to Batik’s growing fleet is B38M 9M-LRR which is now in-service, ex PK-LQF. She wears the same livery as -LRT.
  9. Does anyone know the reconfiguration schedule for the 738’s and which aircraft are being done? The only one which I’m aware of being done so far is -MXV and this hasn’t flown since it’s recent scratch and sniff launch a number of weeks ago. As a side note retrojet -MXA is now back in service after being in storage.
  10. 737-8 9M-LRT entered service this morning upon transfer operating a return to BKI then to KCH this arvo, ex PK-LQH. Believe she retains the Y180 Lion Air interior.
  11. 737-8 PK-LQF which I believe is the future -LRR is parked near the B gates, wears same livery as -LRT.
  12. Batik’s 737-8 9M-LRH is on its delivery flight from Boeing, operating as OD2 and is currently between HNL-GUM.
  13. -MXV is flying with the retrofitted interior, looks smart and the colour palate is very MH.
  14. With the recommencement of services announcements made earlier this week to MEL, SYD, PER, AKL, New Delhi, Seoul, Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, HNL, London, DXB and Istanbul is it safe to assume D7/AAX will reactivate those 8 stored A333’s currently at KUL? They only seem to have these 4 in active service -XXF, XXQ, XXR and XXZ + VAA which AK is using.
  15. Cheers JuliusWong. 9M Batik have just announced an increase of flights to Perth from 15Sep from 2 weekly flights up to 11 weekly, in addition to this they’ve also announced a new route which operates KUL-DPS-PER-DPS-KUL, 3 times weekly. Operated by a mix of 738 and 7M8’s. I also see their resuming twice daily B737 flights to PEN. Some pretty rapid expansion in the coming months, both schedules and fleet growth. Slightly off topic, I see PK Batik are taking a lot of those ex Garuda 738’s that are parked at ASP in storage, bet we’ll see more former Malindo 738’s returning to the 9M register.
  16. -LRD is now back in service. OD has started operating MAX 8’s to BNE and MEL in the past couple of days. Been doing some research and have discovered OD are taking several ex Lion Air MAX 8’s and these will become -LRQ, R, T and U on the 9M registry, so plenty of fleet expansion to come with 2 further factory fresh examples too joining the fleet. Guessing then -LRG has a 2 class interior as this is a very recent delivery from Boeing. Hoping they can standardise the cabins and remove the Y180 Lion interiors.
  17. A further sign that this pandemic is hopefully behind us, Batik Air Malaysia (Malindo to most of us) now have 3 x MAX 8’s in service -LRC, F and G believe these were former Malindo birds that spend time on the PK- register before being transferred back across. Does anyone know if these have been reconfigured into a J and Y cabins? These were previously in an all Y configuration with those cheap blue Lion Air seats. -LRD also looks to be returning to the 9M register too. -LRH and J have recently ferried back to the SEA/Boeing Field for work prior delivery too after lengthy periods in storage. Mods, can we sticky this to replace the 2020 thread please.
  18. Many thanks for your responses - I’m guessing in the interim that 738/739’s could always be transferred back across from the parent company.
  19. An airline which is often forgotten about is Malindo and with international travel recommencing here in Australia and flights to Perth set to recommence, I’ve just been researching the current Malindo B737 fleet and I was unaware at how decimated their former reasonably sized fleet has become. Is it correct they just have -LCR, LNP and LNV left in active service?
  20. Have read elsewhere that an OD 739ER is off to Delta along with 28 other similar frames from the Lion Air fleet, apparently the frames leaving the JT/OD/ID fleets and are apparently leased from Castlelake. Does anyone know which frames are involved in the transaction?
  21. Skyliner is now listing the following for Malindo after transfer and ferrying SZB-KUL on 20/12: 9M-LCR ex PK-LBY 9M-LCS ex PK-LDG
  22. The Sydney service has already commenced. I would dispute that OD are now are full service carrier also, they launched as a hybrid carrier back in March 2013, with all inclusive fares, now they've gone down the LCC/bundled tier fares model. Further to this the fares I've looked at once ancillaries are added in they were more than MH on a number of sampled flights originated ex Perth. The likes of QF, SQ and CX are FSC, Malindo/Batik Malaysia are just plain confusing about their identity and place in the market. They have so much potential but have slid down the totem pole further. The should've kept the hybrid model and if needed reduced their generous allowances. Being Australian but spending a considerable amount of time in MY, I can truthfully say Aussies vote with their wallets, they need to complete the rebrand and distance themselves from aircraft which resemble Lion Air. I'm guessing the alleged incoming incoming 737NG's are from Batik?
