  1. Nah I appreciate your comments...but I just wanted to try D7 for myself and for the flight timings suited us better than MH and I'd rather fly a D7 A333 then a MH A333. I'll do a trip report and give my honest opinion of how I find Air Asia.
  2. I just booked PER-KUL-PER on D7 then onto PEN rtn last night. Paid $421 (roughly RM1010.40) per person PER-KUL-PER although the outbound leg is in the XL seating but by the time 20kgs of baggage and a Malaysian meal was factored in it work out at $1026 (RM2462.40) for the both of us to travel in July. And the flight KUL-PEN-KUL was a promo fare of RM9 per sector each = RM36 but by the time baggage and meals are again factored in it came to RM416!! MH for the both of us was RM380 rtn, but after flying them on 2 previous trips I wanted to give Air Asia a bash and their flight timings on the domestic flight suited our needs better. My observations is the fare might look cheaper on face value but it pays to do some research into the total cost of the ticket once everything is added on. I don't understand how come a LCC can be more expensive than a legacy carrier such as MH on the same domestic route. Also with regards to their STN flight going daily I was always under the assumption it was going to be once they received their second A340....PR hype. Tom/PER
  3. It hasn't got the SUD (stretched upper deck) either so it's a B744F.
  4. Complete with the future Lion B744 in the background. Should now be 2 of these at KUL. PK-LHF VCV-KUL 18/4 PK-LHG VCV-KUL 14/4 Both ex Oasis.
  5. Does anyone know the ID of this stored MH 744 which I saw yesterday on our return to KL from LGK, it's the one on the left. The other is a MASKargo.
  6. XXB was delivered on the 18th Dec.
  7. Hi Folks, Does anyone know the seating configurations for 9M-XAA and XXA? Reason I ask is in PER we have now seen -XAA a couple of times on the 'red-eye' flight. I was under the impression that the new one XXA was for PER and MEL flights exclusively and XAA for OOL and China services. I was under the impression that XAA was around the 320 pax mark and XXA and the rest of their new deliveries were 396 total pax, but that said I recall reading that XAA would be reconfigured to match the rest of the new A333's when XXB arrives. Many thanks in advance. Tom/PER
  8. Just slightly off-topic. Anyone know where -XAA is? Apparently 3 of last week's OOL flights have been cancelled and CX A333 today operated KUL-OOL-KUL on behalf of D7 as CX8129. Can't be cheap chartering a CX A330.
  9. What does -XXA do between PER flights? One return flight here a day seems pretty relaxed roster for a LCC A333.
  10. I know these aren't taken at PER but here's a few shots I took of the A380 arrival in SYD on the 21st September. A Perth regular VH-EBK. rgds Tom/PER
  11. kian, QF B738WL VH-VXO is 'Sharing the Spirit' not VXD. Superb photos mate.
  12. KC, It should be going to TLV to join it's sisters MPC, MPE and MPG and undergo the B744BDSF conversion. One of these has just been delivered to World Airways as N740WA and the other is currently VT-AIS with AI. I think -SPR is also heading to the USA with World Airways.
