  3. Gidday All, The Red Bull Air Race in Perth has been guaranteed until 2013, then after that will be up for renewal between Red Bull & West Australian State Government whom I assume would be offered first rights to re-host the event. That aside here is a cross selection of various images taken over the Red Bull Air Race weekend! something for everyone's tastes. Thanks for viewing....Greg
  4. Gidday all, Will have a selection of pictures up tommorrow to share! Uncle Norman Ian took the 2,500 frames ++ over the weekend! smoke comes out of Ian's camera...he works it like a well oiled machine gun! Rgds Greg
  5. Hi Guys, The weather's improved 100% back to blue skies & sunshine. Yesterday's session netted some brilliant pictures with one member of MW taking approx 2,500 frames, others like Min, Mir & myself bit more conservative. Today (Sun) is last day of the event! we'll be out there again today doing our best, and when time permits in the coming days more images will be posted for you guys. Greg
  6. Great work! look forward to seeing you guys on the South Perth side today. Cheers Greg
  7. Hi all, Sad to report that 11.50hrs (WST) today during the first practice session of this year's Red Bull Air Race hosted in Perth, that Brazilian pilot Adilson Kindlemann crashed his MXR Technologies MXS-R aircraft N19MX msn 7 into the Swan River. He had moments earlier passed thru the starting gates and had weaved thru the 3 chicanes when on exiting out of the last pylon appears the aircraft has appeared to have stalled, flying at approx 50ft the aircraft dived slightly and was recovered by Adilson who then applied more power but unfortunately the aircraft failed to climb and hit the water. He was recovered from the aircraft within minutes of the crash and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital where his condition is reported to be stable, he suffered only whiplash and bruising and was extremely lucky and will be in hospital overnight only for observation & discharged tommorrow. The weather here has been wet over past days resulting in the aircraft departing & returning from Jandakot Airport, as the soddened grass at Langley Park in the city was still deemed as being unsafe, tommorrow's another day & hopefully things will see the aircraft all arrive safely into Langley Park and blue skies. Nice catching up with Iggy today at South Perth, & look forward to seeing Min & Mir over the next few days. Heres a few pictures soon after this morning's tragic mishap! Please feel free to add your images into the topic & enjoy. Regards Greg

  11. Hi All, Question: What is the aircraft type & operator of the aircraft parked behind the Mahan Air 743 ???? Cheers Greg
  12. Hey thanks a lot for your comments Iggy! Strategic will operate 3 x times weekly return services to Derby (Fly in / out) as well as operating to Bali, taking over where Ozjet left off; When this is likely to happen is anyones guess due to the on-going problems surrounding Ozjet's 3 grounded 737-200s at Perth, and monies owed to WAC; also Singapore was mentioned in conversation onboard the aircraft as another likely destination for this airline. Expansion within the region is certainly on Airline's agenda with a second A320 aircraft in Singapore expected to arrive soon becoming VH-YQB, things are certainly on the up & up for Perth. Regards Greg
  13. On Tuesday 2nd February, I along with many others participated in a (AOC) Air Operators Certifate route proving flight to Derby / RAAF Curtin (YCIN) to Perth return with Strategic Airlines, onboard there recently delivered A320-212 VH-YQA c/n 190. The flight was anything from the ordinary with (CASA) Civil Aviation Authority Australia, Australia's aircraft safety watchdog onboard overseeing & evaluating all of today's flight scenarios too see the compentance of the flight crews & flight attendants as part of obtaing the airlines AOC certificate by putting them through a series of different in-flight scenarios. Our flights simulated the following: Smoke / Fire in the toilet; Pax / Medical Emergency :- Heart Attack; and Emergency Landing. Iam pleased to say that the sequence of tests undertaken on todays flight all passed! and is now another step closer in obtaining its AOC Certifcate. Here are a few pictures taken from the day: Our Aircraft VH-YQA named "The Kimberley" parked on Bay 21 at Perth Interesting tag on the aircraft's side :- Think , Be , Fly simply meaning Think Strategic, Be Strategic, Fly Strategic Leather seating onboard this completely refurbished A320 In-flight Perth to Derby Derby / Curtin Airport Terminal A320-212 VH-YQA on parking bay 1 at Derby After a 2hr layover in Derby time to re-board for the 2hrs.28mins flight back to Perth Lining up on Rwy 29 at Derby 'ready for take-off' Kimberley Thunderstorm cell en-route Derby to Perth (lightning was seen from clouds below) Setting sun over the Indian Ocean Arrivals board at Perth with our flight details, interesting to note Ozjet code-sharing on the same flight. Hope you enjoyed the pictures & in-flight commentery, if not sorry! Regards Greg
  14. Kwek, Please remove or re-position your watermark on your images. It's spoiling your images and you cant appreciate the aircraft for what they're are. Personally I hate waterwarks:- Photos of aircraft should be enjoyed by all without having to view them through watermarks or Tags; if however they are magazine quality or the alike then thats different, but clearly some of yours wernt. Just worth thinking about. Cheers Greg
