A Legendary Plane

Recommended Posts

I've been in NASA blue jacket most the time, I wish I can be in that suit one day.

Tell me, Azuddin, what did you actually do at NASA and for how long?

Awesome, the Concorde is there.

Didn't they display the Shuttle Enterprise OV-101 there?

Sure is ...

The ori 1903 Wright Flyer is in the other (older) Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, the one located in downtown Washington DC.

So there are TWO Smithsonian Air and Space Museum? The one I visited in 1983 must be the older one , right in DC.

Yup, the new one is the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles, which has the space shuttle, Concorde, 707 proto, Enola Gay, etc. Also a splendid IMAX theatre showing aviation-related hi-def videos. :good:

I'm registered under NASA earth watch crew. It was upgraded from NASA junior club I joined when I was 9. Earth watch team is actually a youth club open by NASA.

The benefit in being the Earth watch is:

-direct access into any of the 3 Space Center in the US.

-Direct contact with ISS from my home PC (only if I use US ISP).

-Live launch countdown clock on my PC monitor.

and a lot more. But I only use the space center access most the time. And I haven't join any activity for over 3 years.

Now that is a legend

Former Apollo 13 Lunar Module pilot, Fred Haise is one of the test pilot of this machine.

The OMS pod is missing, also the wing leading edge.
