Connexion by Boeing service to cease from 31 December 2006

Connexion by Boeing (CBB) has announced that it will withdraw its onboard wireless internet service with effect from 4am (Singapore time) on 31 December 2006.

 

In appreciation of your support for the service, the service will be made available, at no cost, to all customers, between 5am (Singapore time) on 3 October 2006 and its closure at 4am (Singapore time) on 31 December 2006.

 

Please refer to the Questions and Answers below for more information. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

 

 

Q: Why is the CBB service being withdrawn?

A: Boeing made the decision to terminate the service following a business review of CBB.

 

Q: When will the CBB service be withdrawn?

A: The service will be available until 4 am (Singapore time) on 31 December 2006.

 

Q: What will happen to my CBB account?

A: The account will be cancelled after 4am on 31 December 2006.

 

Q: Is the present service affected by the Boeing decision?

A: The will be no change to the service from now till 3 Oct, 5am (Singapore time). Between 5am (Singapore time), 3 October, and 4am (Singapore time), 31 December, the service will be available, free of charge, to all passengers.

 

Q: Will SIA be providing customers with an alternative to CBB?

A: We recognize that there is demand for in-flight internet access from our customers and we are exploring possible alternative solutions.

 

Q: Will this affect only Singapore Airlines or other airlines as well?

A: All airlines currently offering CBB will cease offering this service by the end of the year.

 

Q: Where can I find out more information regarding the withdrawal of the CBB service?
