S V Choong 4 Report post Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) http://the-sun.on.cc/cnt/news/20150628/00407_005.html Article in Chinese and couldn't find the English version, sorry didn't have time to translate. Basically: CX703 HKG-BKK A330-300 encountered a mid-air wake turbulence (according to the pilot of the aircraft) from a flight above them. The aircraft banked leftward all of the sudden and wasn't stable for a few minutes with some passenger described it to be "roller coaster ride". Possibly an exaggeration by both the media and the passenger. Nobody was injured in the incident but pax believe they were travelling too close to another aircraft, were about to ram into another aircraft or believe the pilot made an error... there goes the exaggeration and speculations. Sandeep G 1 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 One example is RVSM with 1000 foot separation combined with ANP of 0.0 on most aircraft together with a perfect headwind on the lower aircraft make the situation ripe for such wake turbulence encounter at altitude. Nicer to fly offset (SLOP) 1 or 2 miles from the airway and traffic
