Cathay Pacific provides bottled water on flights after samples from tanks fail to meet standards

Recommended Posts

Cathay Pacific is providing bottled water to 14 planes and sterilising water tanks on those jets after samples of drinking water taken from them failed to meet standards.

The airline said this morning samples taken from a “small number of aircraft” were not up to the airline’s standards and it was arranging sterilisation.

“As a precautionary measure, we will be serving passengers and crew bottled water on those aircraft,” a spokeswoman said.

“Additional bottles of mineral water will be uplifted and we always make sure that a sufficient quantity of water is available in-flight,” she said.

The Health Department said it had been notified by the airline yesterday afternoon that 14 flights were involved.

It seems this issue is not unique to CX and was advised years ago not to drink potable water from a once 5 star airline.
