KOTA SAMARAHAN: Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Latif Ahmad yesterday presented a cheque for RM22,000 issued under the ‘Tabung Amanah Perwira dan Pertahanan Nasional’ (TAPPN) to the late Sgt Limit Amis’ widow, Florine Jais. Limit, a member of the 22nd Commando Regiment in Iskandar Camp in Mersing, was involved in a fatal fall during a freefall exercise from a height of 8,000 feet on April 3 at Sandakan Airport in Sabah. He succumbed to his injuries in the accident when his parachute failed to function. His body was flown from the Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital in Kota Kinabalu to Kuching International airport via the Charlie C130 airplane belonging to the Malaysian Air Force (TUDM). He was laid to rest at the Christian Cemetery in Kampung Merdang Lumut here on April 6. Florine, a full-time housewife, is living with her mother-in-law together with her two children, Gabriel, 6, Ellenania, 2. She will receive her husband’s pension of RM3,165.66 per month. TAPPN was formed in 1968 by the Home Ministry, the chief editors of New Straits Times, Tamil Nesan, Sin Chiew Jit Poh and Nanyang Siang Pau together with Amanah Raya as the trust holder. stryker 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2011 media fail not totally wrong,its normal in the ATM/MAF to call the LM C130H as "charlie",probably taken out of context.By the way have flown the classic C130H/30 while doing my service to the nation,had a few good flying memories on that airplane,(did tactical low flying either singles or in pairs,fighter affiliation with F15s,tactical drops,etc) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
