Hainan Airlines to expand services to Southeast Asia

Hainan Airlines has applied to expand its international network with additional services to three Southeast Asian cities.

The Chinese carrier plans to begin four-time weekly services between Beijing and Cebu in the Philippines, and four-time weekly flights from Shanghai to Cebu, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of China. It plans to start these services in October.

The carrier also hopes to begin daily Hangzhou-Ho Chi Minh City services in November, and thrice-weekly Hangzhou-Bangkok services in March 2010, adds the CAAC.

Hainan Airlines plans to operate Boeing 737-800 aircraft on all of these services. There are no other airlines operating on these routes, according to Innovata.
