Using reserve thrust for pushback

Can this be done on other airliners such as 737, 747s and Airbuses?

I remember reading about the Palm 90 tragedy and it was mentioned that it was against Boeing/AF SOP to use reverse thrust for pushback.

I think 717 can if not mistaken..but not sure whether using reverse thrust or not...somemore i heard that reverse thrust must be close when below 60 knots when landing..so how to reverse with it? correct me if wrong.

Saw an ATR42-500 doing this today at Berlin-Tegel: very interesting indeed !!!

but this AirForce's Charlie, just did a self-powered pushback....

and they did this proc everytime in Langkawi
