Syed A Ridhwan 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Plane veers off Bario runway, passengers safe MIRI, March 4 –Sixteen passengers onboard a MASwings Twin Otter flight had a scare when the aircraft veered off the runway after landing at Bario airstrip, southeast of here, yesterday. No one was injured in the 1pm incident as the two pilots of flight MH3434, which took off from here, managed to bring the aircraft to a safe stop on the grass verge. MASwings managing director Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani said in a statement here today that the airline’s engineers who were deployed to Bario found no damage to the aircraft. The aircraft was given clearance to take off for the airport here at about 6.20pm. The incident caused four flights from here to Lawas and Marudi and vice-versa to be cancelled.
