  1. Ok... I know the place... you can't really see the runway since the palm trees there blocked your view You can get aircraft already airborne tho'... here's an example from my database... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Singapore-Airlines/Airbus-A380-841/1325012/L/ I'm not sure about now... but few months ago, police use this location for their resting place before next patrol...
  2. Sorry Derice... I can't get the google map coord as you posted... However.. there's no public-access road that can lead you directly to 32R/14L part from the road that lead to the 'now-no-entry' Observation Hill... The perimeter road that running parallel to 32L/14R has also been closed to all traffic for construction of new LCC Terminal. AND... spotting by the fence will always invite the police... So as Keith mentioned... safest is the Observation Deck in the terminal... Even that... please have your passport/identity with you all the time. There have been an incident where spotters from Hungary were questioned by security personnel for taking photographs in the Obs Deck.. for few hours... So have your passport, sample spotting photos, flight tickets so that they know you're a spotter, and taking airplane photograph is your hobby, and you're on transit in KUL... Good luck.... btw... may I know when you'll be in KUL?
  3. Sorry to miss your posting, Derice... Welcome to MWings... As Walter mentioned, safest to spot from Observation Deck in Main Terminal Building... Not sure which 16 hours you'll be in KUL... Obs Deck closes at midnight till morning. You need very powerful binoculars to spot from Concorde Inn, and only for aircraft departing 32R, and already airborne, or arrival 14L... You can't see the runway from there. Best is still Obs Deck, for the short duration you'll be in KUL...
  4. You came back via MED last time? Muasassah Pilgrims coming home via JED will stay here before check-in time Hajj Terminal... I went there to weigh & check-in baggage Saudi and MAS set up counters in the godown you see in Azizul's friend's earlier pix BTW... the students seem to use the main terminal or Saudi's terminal instead of Hajj's..
  5. Thanks for the pictures of Madinatul Hujaj, Azizul... Was there briefly in December to weigh by check-in baggage, but didn't stay in the hostel though... so not sure how it looks like in the inside.
  6. Yup... saw an image of D7's or AK crew in TV once... in white tudung actually.. but what about JED Tower looking at the cheerleaders...
  7. Thanks for the update... D7 sent XAC?... Wonder what JED reactions on the starboard's liveries...
  8. Whoaaa.... nice catches FLee... How long they gonna be in this region, Mir?
  9. Huh?... The photographer must have a credential from the daily with him, that's why he was released 'a few minutes later'... what happen if a photographer from MalaysianWings?... huuu... not good now...
  10. Nice shot guys despite the weather Wedding Assignment
  11. I'm not that familiar with Changi, only spot there once... & that with Changi's spotters helps... You can have a look at the Changi's spotting thread here & can judge by yourself that it's much more interesting down south... You can be at public places, such as the Changi Beach or the Park to spot those aircraft.... Get in touch witrh SIN spotters if you're heading that way... I'm sure they're more than willing to show you the places... great bunch of guys...
  12. Great shots mdsaleh.... Guess these guys & I missed you in SZB... We were in different locations...
  13. Hi Nik Nazmi, 'Observation Hill' means 'Forbidden Hill' in MAHB's vocabulary (sorry Azuan.. with due respect to you first... ) We're unsure when you can get 'trouble free' spotting from the hill that was meant and constructed for spotters. Pity that your kids weren't given the chance to enjoy our hobby. I suggest that you take them to the Anjung Tinjau in Main Terminal Building to enjoy looking at airplanes, minus the excitement of watching the smokes on touchdown or the roar of rotations. Until there're some sensible things (read: miracle) happening, Anjung Tinjau is the place to be now.
  14. Looks like AK's model was put up in hurry... off-scale with the rest...
  15. Thanks for the info, Azhar... So KB/K'tan MWingers... good opportunity here.. BTW... care to elaborate more regarding ALSIM Simulator?..
  16. HonKit.... Nice fullframe... and Ian ... naughty...
  17. The plane that I really want to nail in PEN... that CX Cargo.. LW... on my Mac ... the yellow saturation a bit over, probably can tone down a bit, as well as tone down the cyan a bit..
  18. Wow... 'bus stop' location has become very strategic... how's the 'welcoming committee (aka bulis)' now? Good shot LW...
  19. **The post by michgyver is suspended until image is resized to 1024px max width..**
  20. Thanks guys.. Not sure about the G12... but it's one of the functions in the 'Scene' mode Straigth out from the S95, Chaity... not post processing, accept resizing using iPhoto. BTW... now a.net got 'special effect' category ka? hahah
  21. Yes... using P&S is much safer than dslr & as long as you don't shoot at the security personnel and areas within the immigration/custom... Thanks for the insight of the aircraft, Mizi... It is an interesting airport... lots of movement, especially during Hajj season.. Saw lots of potential spotting locations just outside the terminal, but it is Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and snapping photos outside the airport are very likely to invite in the Humvies since JED also base for their air force...
  22. While taxying for take off, shot few more... This very familiar DC10 from Bangladesh... Saw two MD-11 at Saudi's maintenance hangar... Passing by Saudi's Terminal... (they've a terminal dedicated for this airline only) At international terminal, spotted this 747-100 (or was it -200?) of Hellenic Imperial airlines.. A tripple belong to PIA... (AP-BHK??) and finally before lining-up 34R... this airbus from Airarabia... ..Thanks for viewing..
  23. Had a very brief spotting session at the airport while waiting for my return flight after performing my Hajj recently.. My 5th Dec flight was delayed from scheduled 0630LT departure till we actually departed at 1500LT ... but we were made to wait in the Hajj Terminal... Not that I complained much... just that I didn't have my D200/80-200 combo at that time for all the take-off of heavies while at the terminal... All shots using Canon Powershot S95... From my waiting area at 105mm equivalent.. Then once in the waiting area and immediately queued for boarding shot this B757 with wiglet (which I missed the airlines... ) Also this A320 Qatar... Mahan EP-MNE just arrived to dock... Royal Air Maroc CG-RGA taxying to 34L for departure... Then while waiting in the aircraft for more than an hour due to technical fault... Shot a few more airliners... Pakistan AP-BGK... Biman in new color... A Turkish Airlines airbus... A wet-leased Saudi (from Onur Air) - TC-OCB just arrived from KUL to pick up Malaysian Hajj pilgrims KT47 (ours was KT 44)... thus their delay not as long as ours.. A Corsair flying for Garuda... Just before pushback, this EuroAtlantic CS-TFS passed by behind us for 34L... more later...
  24. Long time no post airplane picture... Two shots from my S95, from anjung tinjau on 11th of Dec 9M-MMX pushing back... Untitled by norm-digitalfoto, on Flickr overlooking the Bravo Contact Piers.. Untitled by norm-digitalfoto, on Flickr Miniature mode of the Canon...
  25. Saw this news in TV's Al-Jazeera Al-Jazeera but if not mistaken saw the aircraft shown as A340...
