  1. read it somewhere that they're planning to be full service carrier instead of hybrid airline as their business model.. With this latest news and if it materialize looks like OD will benefit the most with the shrinking of MH and not AK/D7 as predicted earlier... Now, go get youself some 787 please OD.. :D

  2. They have provisions for MTB expansion on the right for more check in counters. The contact pier can also be lengthened to accomodate a few more gates. They are all in the original Kisho masterplan.

I read it somewhere that MAHB will do this first before they start to build the new sats terminal.

  4. Malaysian Air Chief Putting Last Touches to Southeast Asia Hub

Malaysia Airlines said a network restructuring aimed at establishing its base in Kuala Lumpur as a hub for travel to fast-growing regional economies including China and Vietnam is 90 percent complete.

“We’re fine-tuning with regard to the frequency pattern, but the capacity-per-destination is fixed,” Chief Executive Officer Christoph Mueller said Wednesday in an interview in London. “The network design was 15 years old and largely driven by traffic from Europe to Australasia.”

  5. I would always choose 4 or 5 abreast over 6 abreast in business class. Of the European airlines, Swiss is practically the only choice for me.

But of course as a senator, I get to choose the throne seats.

In MH case i was hoping that they will not reduce their J seats significantly if they maintain with 2-2-2 conf but with all direct aisle access.. Now with only 27 seats probability of my success rate for MHUpgrade getting smaller

Malindo Air has filed a number of operational schedule for proposed new routes it intends to launch, based on latest update in Sabre GDS timetable listing. Based on the listing, the airline intends to launch following service from 11NOV15.

    Kuala Lumpur Hong Kong

    OD605 KUL1015 1410HKG 738 D

    OD606 HKG1510 1905KUL 738 D

    Kuala Lumpur Perth

    OD151 KUL0825 1410PER 739 D

    OD152 PER1500 2055KUL 739 D

Reservations for these service are currently not available, further changes to planned launch dates remain highly possible.

Elsewhere, Malindo from 25OCT15 plans to adjust operations on following routes:

Kuala Lumpur Delhi eff 10OCT15 Increase from 7 to 10 weekly

Kuala Lumpur Denpasar Increase from 1 to 2 daily

Kuala Lumpur Dhaka Reduce from 2 to 1 daily

Kuala Lumpur Jakarta Increase from 1 to 2 daily

Kuala Lumpur Kathmandu eff 01OCT15 Increase from 3 to 7 weekly

It looks like that OD benefits more from MH route cutting/capacity reduction and not AK/D7 as earlier speculate... too bad the Lion group cancel the 788, if not they will have the right a/c to start SYD and MEL..

  7. Real Madrid chartered an A380?!

If not mistaken they did chartered with MH previously but using the B747 and A330.... I guess A380 just fit the bill :D. If MH can find a niche market for A380 for charter services and profitable in doing it, they will think twice in selling those 2 A380. With Indonesia just around the corner they can grab the market for Haj/Umrah since they have the right a/c

  8.

It is imperative that CM be given the liberty and responsibility to do the tasks of restructuring MAS, and make whatever business decisions that he deems fit for MAB's long-term sustainability, without any form of interference. If CM is not given such privilege, the viability of this whole restructuring plan will essentially be thrown out of the window.

    My 2-cent worth here.

Seriously, i dont think that he will accept the job at MAS if his hands tied up and the gov still have a say in what ever decision being made. I mean, why he would risk his reputation.. unless he got personal interest in MAS which i doubt it. I'm interested to know what makes him accepted the job at MAS.. too bad i didn't see it being ask in any of his interview.

  9. Is that a political interference? Lots of thing seem to be flip-flopping lately.

First the develop vs sale of property matters.

Now the suspension of all long haul unprofitable routes.

To be fair it was Khazanah idea for MH to be a regional focus carrier.... i guess CM still trying to figure out whats best for MH especially when no takers for their A380

  10. Salutation for the very last flight MH 5. Auf wiedersehen Frankfurt after 38 years of service.

How ironic, the day MAS ended FRA service is when a German becoming its CEO.. Hope they will come back again to serve Germany, maybe serve BER instead of FRA and later codeshare with AB.
