Iraqi Airways plan to fly to KUL
"We want to expand our fleet and operate routes to Europe, Malaysia and India. We want to operate just like any other regional airline," said Nasser Hussein Bandar, the head of Iraq's civil aviation authority. Iraqi Airways, founded in 1945, is among the oldest airlines in the region but has no planes of its own after it liquidated its assets and attempted to dissolve the entity to avoid paying hundreds of millions of dollars of debt owed to Kuwait.See details:

omg... is he/she stole that card during the joyride??
-
Is there any divider between the two seat in J class?
-
Hope that they will use B787 on KUL soon!!
-
On a slightly better note, the much criticized GCC cabin on the A330 seats will be refurbished, full flat seats will be installed I believe. Together with an increased MTOW version and fitting crew bunks, ops into Europe and maybe NZ are being considered.
Its good for them refurbish A330.. but how about their B777 no plan?? Is it possible for their A330 to fly until Europe?
Btw, can we expect for MAS to surprise us with the A350 or B787 order for this coming Paris Air Show??

What i mean is only the name.. not the whole structure. They shld streamline the brand either FF or Maswing for turboprop operation, me think
MASWings should not be used as it receives subsidies from the government. As such, it should be kept that way to ensure transparency and accountability.
If MH wants to start a true blue LCC, then it should not use any of its existing brands. It should be like SQ (with Scoot) - come up with a new brand and identity. Even though SQ had the Tiger brand, they decided that it was better to have a new brand for their long haul budget carrier. MH should look to doing something similar so that there is no confusion and passengers can set their expectations correctly.
-
Or some people prefer to pay less for the same work done.
If its still profitable for Mas Eng why not..?? I prefer for them being occupied rather than keep on under utilize like it is right now(correct me if im wrong).
-
If MH ever planning to rejuv back the idea of LCC i prefer they using the name MASwing instead of Firefly....
-
-
I dont think they should jump in immediately... Get MH in order or make it profitable first. They dont have enough capital or planes to start a LCC. The new planes 738 coming in shld be given a priority to MH rather than to a new LCC. Maybe they can start thinking about it after 1 or 2 yr.
-
The loads on the KUL-AMS sector must be really good. A pity MH is not going to use the A380 on this route, even if it may only be 3 or 4 times a week (since they won't have enough of the dugongs for a daily service).
yeah.. thats what i thought as well... they should alternate AMS with MEL for the available A380.

Lotsa Boeing 737-800s. If you look back at the PowerPoints that were linked earlier on this thread, you will find a slide that shows the delivery schedule.
Will try to find it.. or if you dont mind care to share the link?
-
Are they asking for another SPV? why not use PMB like the previous arrangement? Or PMB cannot afford it as well??
-
“We are also on track to win back more customers with a major re-fleeting exercise. This year, 23 new aircraft equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities will join our fleet. This is led by our flagship A380 aircraft which is on schedule to enter into service on 1 July 2012.
23 new aircraft FY2012?? Apart from 5 A380 schedule delivery and 2 A330 what else??
-
Doha airport such a stressful airport for me.. will not fly with QR unless the new airport start in service. Until then will fly with either EK or MH
-
Believed that KLIA2 planned opening in APRIL 2013 will not going to happen as still alot of work have yet to be done esp the runway and and its terminal tarmac areas - its very likely that when it does finally open for service it will be last quarter of 2013 at best.
Construction not my expertise but from what i see they need to complete everything by end of this year... Jan to March will be more on testing of the systems and etc. So lets see how they perform until end of this year.. 7 months to go
-
Additional features of the livery developed specially for the MAS A380 will be applied post-delivery.
What does it mean?? Will it be paint in KUL??
-
Historically, MH has been quite successful with its Golden Lounge refurbishment, so I have less worry.
Agree with that.., too bad that they cannot take the same approach with their fleet refurbishment
-
Hope that MAHB will not postponed KLIA2 opening as the dates getting closer like what BER facing rite now.
-
what we are lack of is the home based carrier....every major airports around the world have at least 4 local based airlines or make it as a hub. Even SIN has 5 local airlines based there (excluding SCOOT). BKK even more......
I hope by 2015 when the asean policy comes in it will change.... Maybe we can even see SQ having a direct flight from KUL to other destinations (apart from SIN)
-
That's what I've been saying all along! If MH wants to be a premium carrier competing with SQ and CX on regional routes using the B738, then they need to use angled lie-flat seats on their B738s!!! They can just have 3 rows in business class rather than the current 4 and the seat pitch in economy needs to be increased to 32".
i read it somewhere that it actually more cost efficient if you just have a so-so product but promote it as being the best in its class rather than you actually have it. Sounds stupid but its kind of true...

I dont think its too far away from the city center. Besides, we have the transportation system/infrastucture to support it. Maybe we need to enhance it by providing more options? We already heard the news that some airport situated in the middle of city for having constraint in expanding the capacity and even some of them have a curfew by not allowing night flight. So in a way, its kind of a good thing for KLIA to be located where it stand today.

While we keep on bickering who get the biggest pie and shits like that... GA/SQ/TG all keep on smiling and step up their game.
