  1. MD says new transformation plan for MAS will be unveiled next year

¡°We will not behave like a low-cost carrier. We will always provide superior products and services to customers but we will drive down our costs so that we will then be able to offer highly-competitive rates to passengers,¡± he said.

 Oh my God...... I just can't stop laughing when I read that line! What a lot of bulls#@t! So a cheap food in a fancy lunch box served in an old plane is "superior product"!

  2. Wah, like that also can kah ?

I thought you were with MAS ? Was this some sort of freelance assignment during your own free time ?

I had already resigned. The crew in charge was a former MH crew and he called me. Told to just turn up at Airod, dump my bag in the cargo hold and off I went to NZ and Australia. It was a beautiful plane with a putting green in the centre. It was a very well paid holiday! The other crew were also ex-MH and SQ.

  3. Is it MASTAR? i thought the MASTAR went to Country Heights as 9M-CHG?

I believe it is the MASTAR BBJ. The 9M-CHG was a B737-300. Can someone confirm? Some time in the late 1990's, cant remember when, but I was called to operate as a last minute replacement cabin crew for a plane owned by County Heights. It was a B737-300 with a luxury interior. Cant' remember if it was CHG.

  4. The lounge that are for credit card holders from Citbank for example are only for Citibank cards issued in Indonesia. They are not free but points are deducted from card. I used the citibank lounge at CGK domestic and also in DPS for a fee of RPH50,000 which is about RM19. I think the same applies for most lounges. Don't expect anything fantastic, just a nice quite place to wait for your flight.

There is a photo of one lounge that is operated by JAS that was use by Emirates in my travel log. It wasn't that good. I preferred the one near to the F gates that is normally used by EK but it was closed for renovation during my last visit.

  5. Beyond, in the coming months of 2008 and 2009, MH will be updating its male cabin staff uniform for a new and refreshing (minor update) looks. As a start, beginning 1 November 2007, MH male cabin staff will be giving up their songket lapel or service jacket during flight and will wear their classic jacket instead.

the male uniform however drawn much critism.

A fellow A.Netter who was flying CDG-KUL once quoted the uniform as reminding him of a uniform of certain bus conductors from a bus company in Europe, which is a pity according to him, as our MH male cabin staff are generally good looking. A nice uniform would surely compliment their (profesional) looks.

    Any thoughts?

    Azizul

I was a crew with MH. I must say the stewards inflight jacket is so ugly! It's still better than short monkey jacket. Even the old orange jacket was better looking. I am gonna look for any old photo and post it soon.

  6. I must make myself clear, although I've opted MH as my 'first choice' for flights between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, that is just 'first choice', and usually reality is cruel! And since the recent downgrad of MAS, the 'first choice' will deminish fast.

If MH sees this website, they may claim they still the 'first choice', but bare in mind that 'first choice' doesn't mean ultimate choice.

So far the vote seem to show that AK is the first choice for domestic and on the random regional sector, they still come in second. While this is not a controlled or proper survey, if I was running MH I would be very worried. But they since MH is a GLC, they most likely don't give a damm as long as gaju masuk, dapat saham and dapat makan extra cukuplah!

  7. The recent down grade of inflight meals and the increase in surcharge by MH has had very strong reaction. <_>

So this poll is to see how this issue has affected MH as your airline of choice. Remember the questions assumes that you are flying in economy. For domestic flights, I have not included Firefly and MASwings as they do not have as wide list of destinations as the two main carriers.

The KUL/BKK sector is chosen as it has a wide selection of airlines to choose from and is just a random regional sector. However the list of airline may not be the complete list of airlines operating the sector but it is a good sample.

As for myself, if I have to travel for work within Malaysia, I choose to fly Business Class on MH so I would vote for MH. If I am traveling on holiday, I look for the best deal from both AK and MH, and make my choice based on timing and not just price but from now on it's AK. With the mealbox fiasco i will not fly MH between the peninsular and Sabah/Sarawak if on holiday.

Join in and vote and also add you comments please. Have fun!

  8. First of all, thank you to all who have voted. By the looks of it, MH has the winning design with the sexy AK coming a close second. I keep the votes to only FEMALE uniforms as only MH & AK have male cabin crew. I didn't include Berjaya Air as I think no one has seen one! If some has a photo it would be great. The big looser has to be the new baby on the block, MASwings. My pick? Has to be the elegant Baju Kebaya of MALAYSIA AIRLINES. KEEP VOTING GUYS!

  9. Since Firefly has just changed their uniform and MASwings has just taken-off, let's take a poll on which airline has the best looking uniform. There is a photo of the MASwings crew taken by Capt. Radzi under the topic "MASwings". For the Firefly new uniform check out the topic "New firefly cabin crew uniform". You are also invited to post your photo's of FA here for others to judge. Have fun!

  10. MH would never reply their email... At least to my case... And that was long ago... Anyone have any idea how MH they are doing now?

And as for phone call, I also noticed I could hardy get the call answered, it seems to wait for ages until I finally ended the call myself......

I did send an email once to complain about a problem on an MH flight. I got a computer generated reply within 24 hours, saying thank you for my feedback and they would get back to me.....they NEVER did.

As for Enrich, I had to send 3 emails over a week requesting to reset my login but got NO response. Had to call the call centre twice before my problem was attended to. During the first call I was told to call back during office hours as Enrich staff are not available 24/7.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES A FIVE THUMBS DOWN AIRLINE!

  11. Source: TheStar

As the description said, do they still have enough a/c? If I'm not mistaken they have only 2 F50. So can this meant that they are going to get extra a/c from MASWings temporary? Those which are undergoing maintanence in Subang??

according to PEN staff, they are currently operating with one a/c an the other on standby. They have combined the TGG and KUA flights. The aircraft schedule has SZB included but not operated so the a/c just remains on standby in PEN.

  12. have to second that..they look so professional. anyways Alan, any idea why did they leave those full fledged airlines for FY? usually people do this only when age catches up with them or due to family commitments. any idea why in their case?

didn't ask why they left. People have many reasons, like you said family commitments or some times you have had enough of flying around the world.
