  1. Maybe it is KJT - Kertajati International Airport the new airport built to replace Bandung's current Husein Sastranegara International Airport which is said to only handle domestic flights in the near future. Currently it's a huge white elephant with hardly any flights, so the talk is that all international flight may soon be forced to transfer there from BDO. With bad land connection, I would just fly to Jakarta and take a bus or train to Bandung as Damri already has transfers from CGK and the railway company is talking of starting some of the regular Argo Parahyangan trains from CGK to Bandung.

  2.

In 1991 & 1992, MH operated KUL-TPE-HNL-LAX vv using the 744 combi. 3x /wk. The HNL stop was both ways and MH did sell tickets to HNL. At the same time, MH also offers a 3x/ week KUL-NRT-LAX vv, which I think was operated by the 742. So - 6 x/ wk on 747s...versus the current miserable 4x wk on smaller 772s.

    Those were the days...

At one time, 2 of the 3 weekly HNL/LAX flights were operated by 744 combi and 1 with a full pax 744. So 3 crew (LS, FS and FSS) get to night-stop in HNL for 1 week before joining the next 744 full pax flight. I was lucky to be rostered this patten, it was like the best paid holiday ever! A whole trip to LAX and back would be 21days!

  3. Also check if you if buying return is cheaper or separate bookings for outbound and inbound. I checked MH to HKT and got RM1,300+ for 2 pax return, however for the same flights and on the same dates, I got RM500+ to HKT and only RM400+ back with separate bookings. No brainer which one I bought.

  4. Almost every new airport opening has been chaotic, HKG, KLIA, LHR T5. You can plan to the max but come day 1, staff will still be unfamiliar the building and passengers like always when they enter an airport terminal will suddenly lower their IQ level, loose their common sense and will be unable to read signs etc. I believe a gradual opening would be more viable. Moving Tiger/Cebu first, followed by Malindo and finally AK group.
