  1. My turn to post what I have taken early this week with this bunch of 'FUNKY' folks in KLIA. Definitely a great learning experience as far as I am concerned with regards to spotting planes with a DSLR. I hope I did not embarass myself with this kind of shot quality. I could have done better with my settings. I try better next time. And TK, that VR 80-400 is really something lar.....

First it was AFB.....this guy got one extra huge antannae on top of the fuselage......scared of lost comms??

Then came AFE....Kecil Kecil Cili Padi....this one is real red hot!!

    IPB Image

Jonathan having a bad hair day. So I crop his hair out to save him some embarassment. Cilaka Azahan having a laugh at Jonathan's hair.....

Someway along the session, it threatened to rain with these huge CB cloud developing.....Rain Rain Go Away, come back on another NON-SPOTTING DAY!!

After that it was a matter of all the 'BIG ONES'. MPC was first. Must be F/O sector as the plane over-flared on touching down making it a spectacular sight for all of us there.

Neat detail of the slats from a rearwards view....it was a very hot day too....just look at the heat haze around the airport......phew.....sweating sweating.

AH....open your mouth......AH touch down. A flying trojan horse from the Middle East. Uncle Bush not too happy with this country lately.

Love the view of JTD9 engines from rear view. WiseOne, we got the same shot eh....

Last but not least, a big THANK YOU to JK and WiseOne for the transportation to and from KLIA. Real door to door service. Thanks a lot guys. Jumpa lagi in KL.

  2. That Saudi was sitting idle in Singapore for the past three days during the prince visit. And it was accompanied by another three B747 of different variants. All parked at VIP complex. I was busy flying these past two days and I did not bring Mr. Darkside along......One was even parked next to me when I finished my Jakarta flight yesterday.....certainly some nice pictures there Sneeze.

  3. Not all items are required to be done by memory in the checklists. Only the important and urgent ones which is critical for safety of flight. Some example will be

    Engine Fire and Failures

    Emergency Decompression

Like TK said, all depends on company and manufacturer recomendations. by memory or not, it is best to access the situation first before quickly jumping into conclusions to do a checklist.

  4. Hmm....that SQL shot looks familiar......was it me inside? Hehe..... I will invade Changi beach soon once I am armed with a 80-400 VR but still some time before that will happen. Great shots Sneeze.

Pieter, that KLM cargo looks like Michael Jackson. A very obvious nose job there.....hehe..

  5. Emperor Jon Kong,

Well done well done. Clap clap clap. Too bad I was sleeping when all these shots were taken. I bet the rotation shots all take from a car next to the runway.....betul? No way that can be taken anywhere except the side of RWY02C. And it must be a real powderful ZOOM ZOOM LENS u must have good there.....good one brother. Seven cheers for the shots!!

  6. Absolute fantastic of a chrome elephant in the skies.....have not seen this since my last flight to Japan in Kansai back in October.....I am very fond of this aircraft, always on the lookout for this.....

    No paint = more payload??

  7. Staff travel need to pay ticket cost, fuel surcharge, insurance, hotel and etc etc etc.....

Operating crew to AMS, all free and got Ah Moi to keep company for any sight seeing. The shiokness of a crew......hehe. Best part, not only free, you get paid for it.

  8. Perhaps Malacca can be well suited as a aviation training centre in this region. And that includes basic jet training. At one point in time, Singapore Flying College was looking into possibilities of using Batu Berendam for training operations with the Learjet 45 program. I would think that lack of MRO support in the area was the main reason they stayed back in Maroochydore, Quensland even though the cost there are substantially higher.

But then again, what good use is Subang then? Subang also can be an aviation hub since so many MRO are setting up there.

Radzi, I was thinking along the same line as you. Somehow or somewhere, projects has to be created.

  9. Denny, how come never call me in SIN? And where is my pencil? Enjoy your stay Denny, me heading off to Western Australia. See you next month. Great shot of the Asian Games livery there. I got the orange llivey always, not the blue.

  10. Norman at the second observer seat looks like an Insturctor Pilot conducting a check on the monkeys in the two front seat. Looks like a field day.....

SQ shortage of cabin crew. Can ask the AK girls to move over. Package deal is International flights everywhere. Money factor average S$3K++ (RM X 2.3). Can go buy ori LV, Gucci, Prada in Paris.....but they remain only on Triple fleet OK?
