  10. i feel for you Datuk. had a chat with Tengku the other day. He is a good guy, but powerpoint men helped to not float the company. Also the measures taken to avoid another TR mishap and tai-chi of money hurting the company too.
  11. getting exposure is good and all, but isnt it better to better the ailing airline first? no news about jobs cutback, nor fleet renewal, not plane rewfurbishment or any of that sorts. what do we get? a logo deal. in a club that is not really performing. own by the guy who "share-swapped" even the fishes are smelling something fishy.

  15. from my understanding from the news online, it will be like this: Firefly - ATR - regional flights - subang Sapphire - jets - regional flights - KLIA so it will be two companies in one, if FY is still handling for Sapphire.
  16. Plan one of total domination of the red bus is complete. and they were doing a good job for their KCH/BKI runs too - when i took them recently, a few continous sectors filled to the brim with passengers.
  17. You know what i find sad in all of this? MAS is never in control of its finances. it has to go through khazanah everytime. heck, even the logo change we have to go to putrajaya to get approval. Aisasia as a private (before today) equity has no problem in this - hence it can do the share swap freely. MAS on the other hand needs approval from Khazanah to even change their tyres.

From words circulating, FY is not going to be axed, rather its going to be relabeled as a regional carrier - ala silk air. so in one swoop, we have SQ in Malaysia Premium longhaul = MH = SQ Regional = FY = MI Budget = AK = TR Budget longhaul = D7 = unnamed my biggest question is - is the malaysian domestic consumer going to be screwed? I mean,no news on how its going to be like, but word online said that AK is to take the domestic route. FAX again?
  20. From what i read online, they want to give airasia all the domestic routes, and just leave MAS with the international routes. So, monopoly again?
  21. Just to ask - how is a typical ticket price for domestic travel in japan - say tokyo to hokkaido?
  22. My question is - will this be the start for Airasia's reach to the US? While they may want to tap the domestic market (which is big - i mean, where else you get 747s as *domestic* planes?*, will this be the literall stepping stone to the US? Will then be a move from haneda to narita for airasia X?
