Big big IF. Lolx........they are laying low at the moment, don't think they have the guts to present this grand plan atm.

Can't find much about Gerbang Perkasa company information. I wonder how did a young company get to present such a grand plan? Would like to know who are behind them.

I really hope they can make the immigration counters and departure holding areas wide and spacious.

I just gave you a big hint ;)

Anyway, the date on this presentation is 10th October 2019. Well before all this Airbus/Rolls Royce drama.

If you read the Airasia press releases, they admit no wrongdoing. This is just a PR exercise to shore up confidence and also to protect the share price.

Multiple investigations are ongoing now, latest being started by Mavcom.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the airline said the relinquishment would be for a period of two months or such other period that the company may deem fit.

In view of the current difficult economic circumstances facing the airline industry, a Non-Executive Independent Board Committee formed by AAGB’s Board of Directors has also decided to retain them as advisors to the company during the two-month period.

    So basically, nothing la.. haha

Personally, from my limited knowledge, I don't think there is any wrongdoing either. Unethical, maybe. But not corruption. I don't know.. hmm

AAG may not be too interested either because it may incur more cost to them saving or changing the mindset of the MH mentality 🤐😙😙

Well if that article is to be believed, MH is gone. All staff become AirAsia staff. You don't like it, there's the door.

I still cannot believe Khazanah is basically in favor of ridding MH and letting only one airline dominate Malaysia.

Oh wait, Air France-KLM too denied having any involvement.

So seems like Focus Malaysia is creating rubbish hype out of nothing.

Nah. Likely these things were leaked on purpose to send certain messages to the public. I am all too familiar.

Anyway nobody is talking about the Lion Air/Malindo option. I think that's the best. KUL being the hub for Lion Air's Indonesian operations, and able to connect to other flights in Asia and beyond on MH. It's practical, but the politics of it will be too crazy I'd guess.

More details of AK's bid emerging

    1) A380 is gone, and Khazanah to bear the cost of the debt. Leased A332 also gone. 737MAX will not be taken up.

    2) Khazanah to bear retrenchment costs

    3) No golden shares, AK to call the shots fully

    4) FY not included in deal, MASwings sold.

    5) MH branding is gone.

All in all, Khazanah will have to bear RM 8 billion in costs...

Hahahaha what the heck. GILA. And Khazanah supports this? I feel like typing so much more out of anger but meh.

  6. Didn't know where to ask this but:

On my recent flight back from Tokyo, there were a bunch of flight crew seated in Economy+ but in casual wear. However, as we were about to land, they all changed to their uniforms. Anyone know what was going on? Just curious.

  7. Has anyone tried MH Upgrade? I recently put in a bid but was unfortunately unsuccessful.

Thing is, I have another booking on the same flight on biz, and saw that there are still a significant number of empty seats. I'm not complaining, but just wondering how do they actually go about the process etc.

My wife casually said "Oh I think they just didn't want us because we have a baby" haha. Wonder if that actually DID play a role.. (We actually thought to bid because were unable to secure a bassinet seat)

  8. I just checked the website myself. Not the most intuitive.

There is some slight confusion if you type in KUL it will refer to KLIA main and hence no AirAsia flights from there.

Also MH to LHR on the dates I selected where RM61 more expensive on airasia.com/kiwi.com compared to the official website but I guess that's normal for all these aggregating websites.

I don't think the airline has any say if they are okay with listing on Kiwi.com.

In any case, the airlines still wins because they get extra revenue from an additional marketing channel.

Are you sure? I seem to remember AirAsia not wanting to list on Traveloka. Whatever it is, am not familiar with the whole model so perhaps I am wrong.

Will airasia.com just sell routes AirAsia doesn't serve? If no, what if JL is cheaper to Osaka? Customers will buy JL instead of D7? Actually I should research all this myself but too lazy haha
