Heh..heh..Imran,not much spotting nowdays as it gets dustier and hotter already..however,we will always be around during Al Ain Airshow,Dubai Airshow and Red Bull Air Race.You are most welcome to join us ...however,once AUH airport becomes bigger with increased security,that might be the end of the spotting session around the airport!!We shall see....

If its indeed a flapless or flaps15 landing,then the decision to continue and land might not be very prudent...unless there is something that we dont know eg fuel policy not allowing you to have enough fuel to divert to a better airfield.Some LCCs are known to carry very minimal fuel to reduce operating cost.Whatever it is,good to know no one got seriously hurt...

Tks bro...if the prime got IS its definitely better,so I can use lower shutter speed to blur the props more...anyhow,if it got IS its gonna be heavier and more expensive!!! can complain much...dont forget to post more shots with ur super duper lens bro...

Bats... The day that we all went shooting that morning,all shots are from the 400mm except Mike Mangold's ac..on my latest photo,the last 2 Hannes Arch shots and the heli with Mike Goulian are from the 100-400mm,the rest is with the prime...great glass!! :good:

...or,could it be the plane have problems with the flaps...therefore flapless landing,high speed and resulting in going off the runway?

Yeah Pieter,according to the RedBull Air Race website,this pilots pulls up to 10G during the race,and they dont even wear G suit!!!...anyway,here is some more shots of the practice sessions... Mike Goulian(USA) ...knifes thru the airgates... ...and buzzes in front of the Red Bull camera heli.. Nigel Lamb(UK)... Hannes Arch The only problem taking shots of Red Bull air race is,there is so much smoke from the aircrafts that the background becomes grey instead!!! :lol:

Mana lagi shots from the super duper zoom?takkan itu je kot? ...need more man...anyway,I am in KUL,yesterday lepak2 kat Pavillion wiz TK...ada kedai Canon...but the price???OMG!!!..wonder whether they are serious abt selling or just saja 'stuckup' nak display only ...nak pegi YL photo tak sempat dah...anyway for any brightsiders nak upgrade to 40D,in BKK the cheapest is bht32200 body only...kat kl semlm merayau2 ngan TK,average is rm4500..do the math..

Yeah bro...thats Razmyn with his brand spanking new 200-400f4 VR!!!...that thing is damn heavy....he is using it for the first time...my 30D works well so far,as long as the ammo is good,I think...all shots,except Mike Mangold are taken with my 400mmf5.6L...superb lens for the money,very light and super fast focusing...will be upgrading soon..looking at 1DMK3..how about u?D3?..going to KUL tonite..will land 2moro at abt 1400LT in A6-ETC...see ya..

Kirby Chambliss(USA)... ...as he knifes thru the airgates... Here is my fav Red Bull ac...Peter Besenyei.. ...in his Extra300SR.. ..then comes Alejandro Maclean of Spain.. ...aircraft is Edge540... ..then its frenchman Nikolas Ivanoff with Extra300SR ...more to come....

Ok..my turn and here is some more...shot during the practice session... The control tower for the race where the race stewart is located The pylons which make the airgates for the race Mike Mangold is the first to enter practice.. Then comes Peter Besenyei of Hungary.. Paul Bonhomme.. ...which later becomes the Abu Dhabi Champion... The only darksider in our group fiddling with his brand new high caliber ammo.. Here comes Steve Jones... ...as he passes the airgates.. ..Ok guys..more to come as soon as my youngling allows...watch this space!!!

Hi Norman...thanks a lot for the compliments..I think the shot wasnt that great as the timing of the black jet arrival is always off...memanjang landing during the early mornings that would make it backlit or frontlit at the nose..could have been better lah..the photo also was edited on my laptop,as Jose of Airliners contacted me while i am on a one month holiday..color a bit off...just lucky..thanks again..many more black jet shots to come..as I already have a couple..cuma takde masa nak edit..maklumlah now a brand new father to a 4mths old son...cheers..
