If you're looking for cabin comfort, better inflight service, or anything inflight go with QR
EK's inflight service has somewhat deteriorated or overrated, usually crowded flight
But DXB has got more things to do/see during transit & can also take metro to Deira City Centre, Dubai Mall, Mall of Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, etc, if you have ample transit time
DOH has no aerobridge & got almost nothing to see/do during transit

Passport is required for transit in BWN, as technically you're flying 2 legs of international flights between 2 countries.
Second reason is (touchwood!) in case there is AOG

There were some folks in traditional costumes giving out beaded necklace for arriving paxs.
I heard there was a sending off ceremony in HKG (now searching HK websites for 'trip reports'

Sure got free makan, got Ah Mois to 'shoot', Datuk M.M. & Tengku Z.A. making speeches (otherwise they got nothing better to do)
... who knows Jackie Chan (most likely his life-sized 2D image courtesy of HKG Tourism) may make a surprise appearance to grace the occasion
