I can't find any thread that tracks ex Malaysia Airlines aircraft, and not to duplicate too many threads, can we include them in this thread?
Here is the first one:
VH-OED ex MAS B747-4H6 GE powered 9M-MHO, one of Qantas' three ugly sisters, is now being scrapped at VCV. It was one of the two B744s MH sold to Qantas during the 98 Asian Financial Crisis.
VH-OEC is stored in VCV as well, its future looks bleak as well. Qantas is retiring its B744 progressively.

Take a bow.....So long, 9M-MHO......

Hi everyone, I m doing my MBA thesis & is looking for more airline statistic. Can anyone kind to let me know where to obtain such info?
For instant,
Can anyone tell me the total passengers fly in or out from Malaysia airports for 2010?
This is to gauge the total Malaysia market for airlines.
This is one of the best thread to get your stats, many thanks to MAR...he is the statistic analysis of MWings~~~~

Power to consumers~~~ hahas!! really interesting development in our Boleh-Land!!!
"For the eastern hub, our ultimate aim is to have one flight departing every hour from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur."
They are gunning to be next KUL-SIN, BKK-SIN, HKG-TPE....golden routes in Asia. B747 in near future?
-
Expecting that from the MH IT department is simply delusional!
lolx~~~ hahas!! ROFL....perhaps they can outsource it?? although it would be delusional as well.
-
Wow!! those Heliconia and Hibiscus sure sell out fast.....congrats for the sale...rare models indeed.
-
They retired 9V-SMU (the 1000th B747) during the financial period. I was lucky to board it when I did KUL-SIN-MEL last November. My first time on a B744. It was really an amazing experience!! As it was late night flight, not much pix.
However, I got B744 again on my return journey due to RR A380 fiasco....but blessing in disguise...got 9V-SPN which was stored previously in VCV. Took loads of pix
Sad to see the B744's go. Changi will be so boring now, mostly B77Ws as they are also phasing out the B772s progressively.
Agree...the aviation world is loaded with twin engines nowadays!! lets hope they hold onto A345 for next five years?? maybe??

Hey Ellist, mind giving us an update on which the list which is sold or booked? thanks and cheers!

old logo? looks nice the new check in counters?!

Most probably from ex-JAL or ex-AA.

Ignoring the ottoman seat & colours, MH's new A330 C class seats are definitely not the same. In fact, quite a fairly long list of differences.
I stand corrected. TK manufacturer is Sogerma and Weber while MH is Recaro. Thanks for the correction!
-
I just realised MH A330's new J/C class is the same as TK's new J class. However, MH lack the ottoman seat.

Suspension of route, not cancelled. I think its more of suspension till Oct 2011 if I am not mistaken. The flight was suspended due to the uprising in Egypt last March. <_>
-
It is not an error fare, some of my friends did manage to get the ticket at this price but I think they are all sold out now. The seats are limited to 10,000 only.
The amount of taxes is ridiculous though!
Hahas!! I know~~ was just teasing MH....congrats to your friends. Its stratling MH is offering such a fare....but the taxes is another story....O.O <_>
-
My bet is on TK~~~~

is the booking system out of order or what???!!! GBP 301 for return flight!!! <_ src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/default_mellow.png" alt="">

Indonesia has one of the worst airline safety records in the world and unfortunately this accident helps it retain that title. I flew on a Merpati MA60 four years ago from Bali to Lombok, only a few weeks after the aircraft had been delivered. The return flight was on a F-28 and it was one flight I was was very glad to get off. The general condition of the aircraft was terrible, which makes you wonder how well the critical parts and systems of the aircraft have been maintained. It certainly put me off flying Merpati again.
All Indonesian air carriers are still banned from flying in the European Union with the exceptions of Garuda
Indonesia, Airfast Indonesia, Mandala Airlines, Ekspres Transportasi Antarbenua, Indonesia Air Asia and Metro
Batavia. The complete ban list can be found at http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/doc/list_en.pdf
From the latest reports it sadly seems all passengers and crew have been killed.
Geoff
Thanks Geoff for the update. May those perished RIP.
Unfortunately, among the airlines in the list you have given, only GA and QZ are reliable and have vast networks. Metro Batavia is also a safe bet. Air Fast Indonesia has a small fleet only and not sure where they fly to. I think their main market is oil drilling ad-hoc charter.
Mandala went bankrupt last year. Haven't heard of Ekspres Transportasi Antarabenua as well.

15 dead reported of 27. May they rest in peace and bless their souls.
For the family, the grieving begins.
Preliminary cause maybe bad weather. http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2011/05/07/merpati-plane-crashed-due-bad-weather.html
Just 500m short of runway.....

Virgin Blue gets a new name

........"one of the worst-kept secrets in Australian aviation."
-
Unfortunately, FY come in at wrong time, when the oil price is shooting across the roof....how will three players survive in one domestic market if all are to cut ticket price? Someone needs to move out.....
-
Awesome job guys~~~ there is something at the cockpit area.....the virgin fly girl...or whats it called? read that Virgin Australia will have different version.

Foxtrot Bravo departing for Sydney at 11:39pm in her new livery ^^
You guys are doing amazing job!! After Aerolineas Argentinas, now this! Kudos yo, Jonathan!!
Our Oz friends are dying to know what the new livery would be like. It has been debated to death in another forum. My feeling tells me that it will be similar to the new Virgin Atlantic colours....

Err....a bit OTT, no?? Media does like to sensationlise stories. Qantas' many cases came to mind.
CX seems to have a bit brush with A330s, isn't this their second major incidents with A330s? I am glad that the flight landed safely!
