  1. Could it be that, it was done on purpose to announce huge losses as everyone do know it for the fact that he is keen to take the company back privately. Imagine that the IPO for the public listed company is only RM1.10. For another fact to it let's say that the share sets back to 60 cents and he intend to purchase it for 75 cents or 80 cents. I guess there is plenty of money that he have earned "legally" from the IPO's and privatization process.

  2. Two 744s had already been converted by EGAT into LCFs (current rego: N780BA, N747BC) . The latest one (rego N249BA, also ex-MAS) was seen here on Apr 9 supported by a/c jacks.

That picture seems familiar,it looks like a picture that i took from someone elses camera in TPE.lol.anyway i didn't really expect to see one(DREAMLIFTER) there.

  3. It is time to stop criticising me I am entitled to my own opinion and so is everybody else including Casper.

I wouldn't agree on the idea to stop criticising , as long as you would like to voice out your opinions to the rest, we are very well entitled to criticize as well.

I am sure that this does not only apply to you only but to the rest as well.

  4. Ok ok ok.. Maybe I was a tad too harsh on that poor fella.

But seriously, go get his MSN and talk to him. But only do it when you have time on a rainy afternoon with nothing much to do. Then perhaps you will understand my "frustration".

He (Michael) is driving most of the freq Mwingers crazy...

  5. Check this out, Boeing's order update for 11/3/2008

    http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

    New orders, all unidentified:

    40 737's

    10 777's

    35 787's

If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on the unidentified customer being our Malaysia Airlines ;)

    Would you dare bet? :D

If i were you,i would think twice as i believe everyone would have know that i have been so optimistic about MAS orders so far.

In this country,i have learnt my lesson that you can only believe it till they make the real announcement on it.

You might be right. But who knows?

  6. I can still recall sometime not so long ago, TF was singing the tone, rather loudly, of how AK has been victimized by big brother MH and how AK has been put in a severely disadvantaged position because of government policy favoring MH and how MH is getting government subsidy. We all believed him and still do.

Maybe someone should remind him (and ourselves) of these words he declared in public and the many other promises where the situation is today either completely reversed or conveniently forgotten.

Couldn't agree more but for this i must.haha.=P

For the scenarios that has been happening so far ever since our beloved old man became the PM

Airasia has been raising their voice countless times and this what AA and we have gotten so far

    a) Rationalisation on the domestic routes ( Free for All basically )

    1. AA to serve on all the non profitable route

    eg KUL - IPOH

Just by sending an Airbus there the conclusion of the story was there - NOT ALLOWED TO LAND DUE TO ITS CHARACTERISTICS

Case closed till today and Firefly is now operating it.

    2. AA must take the RAS

eg FAX was formed in order to serve the RAS as they claimed that it will only be used as a separate entity on its account.

True , but to a certain extent . ITS AOC " Air Operating Certificate" allows them to operate without any restrictions as there were restrictions imposed on AA AOC that they can only serve domestic and

non-international routes and there was something under "TFS" sleeves.

Mind on my S as i think there is too many individuals are involved in this matter there.lol.

    - The transition on MAS handing the RAS to AA or FAX went on smoothly with their Fokkers and Otters

They find it that "shite, i cannot make money from these routes"

As LCC airlines. One after another their "birds" was shot down in order to make their other birds working.

Till the extent that they cannot sustain further , we WANT MAS to take back these routes as we only want one turboprop operator in the country and we want concentrate on our newly launch AAX

"dude if you want to be in the business and you afraid of committing ,don't buy so many airbus lar."

( Bollocks , Firefly to serve Peninsular and MASWings to serve the RAS when the government said that "yes we(the government) will bear all the losses incurred on operating the RAS.)

If this could have happen at the first place why didn't the government "instruct" FAX aka AAX to serve it this way?

    3. TF once again eyes on the KUL-SIN-KUL route

He once said that " Who said we need them ( Kul-Sin-Kul). We can expand better without it" and this was said after his proposal was shot down and when was that??????

Recent they said " We want to fly to Singapore "

less than a month clearance was granted.

" AA now flies to SINGAPORE the LION CITY 2x DAILY "

Question now is people how can all this happen and MAS "happen" to just sit down with their hands tied up being stuffed with garbage in their mouth to suffocate them furthermore.

All these things are done on very valid reason that they gave and it did manage to wash all of our eyes

    - It is a "healthy" competition for both parties

Ladies and gentlemen , Boys and girls this how transparency is being practiced in our beloved country.

    Last but not leased

The opposition once asked our "beloved" PM in the parliament meeting "Is it true that the government bought a new private jet?"

He replied " This is a matter where it is still on KIV" ( tell all our tax payers that the photographs of the malaysian dignified emblem isn't on the airbus )

  7. Well I guess all these points are worth taking but I guess we have to wait and be patient now for the fleet renewal and staff are getting their bonus end of the month too.

Fleet Renewal - My question here is simple .

Please do reason it out with me - MH have plans of unveiling their purchases on the NG's but was later on silenced ( for god knows what reason? )

Not too long after that Airasia announced on purchasing more A320's from Airbus. (reason could be that they are expanding)

With tonnes of speculation running around the whole world, MH now decides on purchasing either from Airbus or Boeing (on what basis?)

This is what i think :

    a) MH would consider the fact that they will purchase Airbus only if they are given hefty discounts on their purchases over their arch rival boeing.

On second thought , why MUST MH purchase the aircraft slots from Airasia as speculated by the people. MAS has already been expecting that even with the order on the NG's

the fastest slot that they would get is only by year 2012/3 and yet they did wanted to announce. (So why they can't wait just as long as they have to wait for their NG's as the earliest slot available is also

    probably around that time.)

    B) The latest non concrete rumours is that they shot down the plan on purchasing the A350 XWB's when they are purchasing it with a lucrative deal just like what SIA have.

( Leased airbus for SIA? I don't think they even need to leased by any means in terms of the size of that fleet and etc)

    c) MAS do really have plans on DRY-leasing the NG's by the end of this year and pls do correct me on this part Capt Nik.H if am wrong i this matter. So why the leasing part and not the purchasing part?

So does this tells us any transparency being practiced on our so called National Carrier?

Mike , just like what sanjeet said i think you should sit back further and have a bigger view before putting them out and getting shot.

  8. I think they are right on point 2 - for long haul travel anyway. I think most government travel in the world takes place on the flag carriers, either due to loyalty or because they are heavily subsidised. Then again there's Air Asia now.

For my work's flights to CBR we have a 'best available' policy but due to the far more flexible conditions of QF fares it often makes sense that most people fly QF anyway as meetings always drag on and schedules are ever changing. And the QF schedules are better than TT. But had either DJ or TT offered the exact same conditions and schedules as QF but at a lower price then no way would the corporate travel people authorise flights on QF.

Point 3 - do they throw out huge corporate discounts to Malaysian companies?

    Choice is great indeed. :)

answer to your point no.3 - the one and only reason why the corporate people is taking MH is because of its reliability.
