    Totally not connected. If its purely on safety then FAA should be questioned regarding its Boeing scandal. 

    Finally CAAM can get a taste their own medicine with how they treat operators especially during audits. 

    Perhaps also the result of curses from aviation professionals (engineers, flight crew, dispatchers and etc) on exorbitantly high licensing fees. I was told pilots have to pay close to rm1500 a year to renew their licenses on the back of a very inefficient agency which operates as if its still the year 1957. 


  2. The Airlines or Operators safety policy is to conform to international standards (ICAO) when it comes to standard practices. Its CAAM responsibility to make sure local operators adhere to it which in FAAs opinion failed to do so. So yes, as what flee highlighted, CAAM is accountable and its going to be interesting to see what their official statement on this is going to be like.

    On that note please also don't drag KLIA1 into the discussion as they use different buildings and runways. They don't have the same issues. I am sure Airasia will also be happy at KLIA1, if they are allowed to operate from there.

    Then ask AirAsia to operate back at KLIA1, who asked them to leave in the first place? It is AirAsia who pestered MAHB to build LCCT. Good for everyone AirAsia grew exponentially and needed a bigger space, hence why klia2 was made in the first place. Why are they not happy? Yes design issue is the problem, so work your way around it. I'm not denying MAHB could have done a better job with klia2, there are always issues with GLCs which could have done a better job not only for our airports but all of the other infrastructures in the country. But the fact remains AirAsia will never stop complaining be it pre and post GE14 with either sides of the political coin, and they will keep pointing their fingers at everywhere else. We definitely cant be Singapore but it is how it is. They keep pushing on their propaganda to move their main operations out of KUL, look what has happen with the so called shift to Jakarta? Where does it leave them, back to KUL. This tricks don't work elsewhere. Now i heard TF is doing the same scheme at BKK. Let's see how far can it go.

    This is referring to the spat between MAHB and AirAsia. Lets keep the focus there. 

    Either way AK is no angel when it comes to serving passengers, their ticket prices have gone way above the two FSCs happily operating out of KLIA1 on most occasions these days. So yea lets keep the discussion between that issues. Otherwise the circle of opinions will stray off. 


  6. Lets all agree to a fact that AK is not behaving like a matured corporate entity with too frequent childish outbursts against MAHB since time can tell on social media / other media. It seems obvious they agreed to something behind closed doors and say something else to the public. Kinda getting tired seeing them constantly labelling MAHB as a bully while AK on the other hand thrived to become one of the worlds success story. I truly believe on the "dont bite the hands that feed you" analogy.

    Additional A332 seems to be a good fit for now. Not too big, and it has the range.

    I don't see where you are going here, MH loads are fair to in comparison with industry standards. In fact the main chunk of morning departures are between the 9am-11am band. The departure congestion speaks for itself and its not only out of KUL that we are talking about, its the same in SIN, BKK and the other major hubs nearby (morning wave so to speak). 

    At current state of fleet number vs frequency, it seems MH B737s utilisation is stretched to the limit. Noticed its quite common to see their A330s to sub the B737s on BKK, SIN, CGK, and some domestic runs lately. 

    The issue in MH all boils down to yield. If you want to say MH is not exploring new route options, well at least we are seeing SUB frequency have been increased, PKU and SOC back on their network. 

    Rule of the game here is yields and MH is not the only airline struggling in that arena. 


  9. The schedule for North Asia arrivals/departure should be moved to around noon time. Since most of the passengers are leisure based, afternoon timing suits well for hotel check in/out. Between 12pm till 4pm, BKI traffic is not too heavy. This would free up more slots at night. 

    Of late there have been a steep rise of Middle Eastern tourist to Sabah. Perhaps a sign of direct flights soon from that region.
