And you know this based on.........?

Friends who are there and leaving soon. Employer EPF too delayed for up to 3 months.

It was a big hoo-haa in social media by their unhappy staff as well in case you were following. There was a CFO change as well lately.

Had 2 friends in Myairline who had their salaries delayed twice(still within legal limit of 1 month delay before it can spook the labor dept) for it to happen twice and both seems to concide with aircraft delivery does not really seem good. On operations side 1 left for gulf.

Yes, same story heard. The aircraft delayed reason is the "corporate" answer, but its far from the truth. Myairline was suppose to operate 20 aircraft by december, now thats not happening.

Nah, that rumour on late salary is false. Don't believe whatever you have heard. They have signed up another 17 A320ceo earlier this year for delivery in the next 24 months. They are wash with "cash" if you know the shareholders' background well. They are merely realigning their aircraft utilisation to match the route demand. With Sibu and Miri temporarily suspended, BKK maybe on the way out, they can start Jakarta, Singapore, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City sooner. The good thing is they are capturing passengers who are jaded with Batik or AirAsia. AirAsia is finding hard to push their sales nowadays.

How about you ask those working with Myairline yourself and reserve your comments until then. Maybe your opinion will change after that.

According to rumour mill; the board appointed third party to investigate the management, reached out to lower management level, etc.

Let's hope someone gets the boot for the damage caused. Some culprits deserved to lose their job due to this is catering fiasco. Especially the middle management side.

If you factor in the total monthly flight, the total number of seats and total monthly passengers, both are equally average at best. Note that OD flight is double of MH.

    MH: 50 flight, 11,442 seats available, 6257 total pax carried= 54.7%

    OD: 104 flight, 19,044 seats available, 11384 total pax carried= 59.8%

Taipei O&D and VFR markets are huge. MH should have done a better job in sales and promoting the destination, and also deploying better A330-300 instead of the crappy A330-200, rather than leaving it to AirAsia X having upper hand. Heck, AirAsia X even deploy its all-Y 367 seats A330-300 passengers also won't complain. Those Malaysians Chinese auntie and uncle are so used to using AirAsia X they won't be bothered to look at OD or MH offer now. KUL-TPE route is pretty competitive JX, BR, CI, MH, OD and D7. MH is squandering its home advantage for premium carrier.

I believe MH is taking advantage of high cargo loads out of TPE, hence even at 54% load factor the route is still profitable to them.

China Airlines will up gauge their PEN flights from A321neo (180 seats) to A333 (313 seats) for the month of December. Business class will go from flat bed to recliner 😅 but a huge increase in capacity.

Probably due to cargo as well. PEN is part of the semi-conductor supply chain of those giant chipmakers in Taiwan. High value cargo. More belly cargo capacity on A333.

Wonder if anyone ever considered uplifting meals from other stations that have proper catering facilities instead - SIN, BKK, CGK ...? 😀

Sure it's going to be costly, but at silly situations, absurdity may prove useful

Hotmeals are already back, its only a matter of weeks before offerings are restored as per the media announcement yesterday.

In the middle of school holiday. Haiyo....well, this is one off event. Sabar semua ya.....I think Asiana Airlines faced the same issue before. BA bought KFC for one of its flights when their catering provider made a boo-boo recently.

One drumstick for you, another for you.....do you want original or spicy flavour?

We offer local special, ayam goreng rempah.

  8. Its all about yields and ROI. If the demand is massive, SQ, EK, QR, CX and all the other big shots will be lining up in droves to launch non-stop services to BKI or KCH. There is no justified demand. Otherwise if AK or MH are not doing their part, OD would have jumped in. Look at HKT for instance, demand is good hence all the ME3 and north asian giants are having flights there.

Pakatan launch their Selangor elections manifesto recently and one of them includes linking Tanjung Sepat and Sungai Pelek with KLIA (I assume the KLIA express extension?). I have absolutely no clue where those places are and I had to look it up.

Tg.Sepat & Sg.Pelek is probably going to be more of a "community service" extension as a lot of KLIA staff live around Sepang oldtown area.

The "This is Malaysian Hospitality" campaign published in September 2022 was handled by Bonsey Jaden x Imaginary Friends with Creative Director, Adam Chan.

The latest safety video Satu, Dua, Tiga, Jom!’ or ‘One Two Three, Let’s Go!’ was handled by The Enfiniti Creative Universe with  Founder and Producer Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina,

Personally, I still prefer the older Safety Briefing Video:

No short of creative talent in MAG, now please get your livery standardised and correct.

Two of them are accountants by training, no offence to that field but that roughly answers the question on why the refurbished 737 product is as bad if not worse than an LCC.

If like this Batik Air should extend their flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen to Paris Orly & Frankfurt where MAS, Air France & Lufthansa doesn't fly anymore from KLIA.

Starting a route is not as easy as that. A lot of matters are taken into account like traffic rights, landing slots, passenger acquisition cost and so on. Operating into Europe is very expensive hence why its not generating much interest among airlines to do non-stop flights or direct 1 stop services. On top of that those ME3 airlines are offering cut-throat fares with good products. IST/SAW-Europe by itself is heavily operated by so many EU and local airlines out of Turkey.

I really really can't understand why Malaysians, especially those from Sabah and Sarawak like to buy their ticket last min. You would have known the PH dates way earlier, the public holiday calendar is published at least a year ahead, you should have booked your air ticket way ahead. For those who say: "Kenot dpt leave how?!!" You book your air ticket first, work out with your boss and colleagues on how to manage the work when you are away, best bring your laptop with you if your company provides you with one. Those air ticket issue is not something new, not a rocket science to plan ahead and book ahead. You can't have the cake and eat it at the same time.

Not all employers are able to release annual leave request at such an early date. One need to understand that everyone has different nature of jobs and leave policies.

Prior to the pandemic, the load for AK's PEN-MKZ and MKZ-PEN always above 90%

Its all about yield. Loads can be hypothetically 110% and the airline could still be losing money. This is why airlines like AK quickly readjusted domestic network to redeploy fleet to China the moment PRC border reopened. Where we saw once 95% load factor KCH-PEN route dropped by AK due to irrational price war between FY and AK on that route. However i do believe PEN-MKZ might work out for FY and OD using ATR with the right fare structure.

Is it really that simple? There are plenty of countries with very high GDPs per capita that don’t have large homegrown FSCs. Ireland for example is one of the richest countries in the world (at least on paper) yet they don’t even have a true FSC. Turkey isn’t really any richer than Malaysia but their airline is massive. Why is that?

Turkey has close to 3x our population and geographically advantageous being a super connector hub between east and west. Hence FSC model works well. MH is squeezed between highly popular tourist destination up north and an economic powerhouse down south. Despite MH having its own troubles within the company, KUL by itself is having a lot of disadvantages. Having far less foreign FSC  coming to Malaysia by itself tells you all the handicaps MH is facing to drive premium traffic into the country. This is why at times MH is forced to "downgrade" offering to meet demand. If one would notice even Malindo is slowly becoming LCC. The game is different between one region to another.

  15. In this picture it appears they are queing up in separate line and then merging with normal passenger que. Have seen this before in east malaysia O&G cities like Labuan and Miri where O&G workers just barge through the que. There was no placard installed to show this group have priority unlike "give way to aircrew" signs. Hence i do understand why this issue came up.

Lawyer asks why O&G workers allowed to cut queue at Miri Airport

    https://www.theborneopost.com/2023/05/10/lawyer-asks-why-og-workers-allowed-to-cut-queue-at-miri-airport/

All O&G helicopter operators have their own inhouse ground support team and avsec. Prescreening immigration checks are also done landside unlike commercial passengers. So why this lawyer is all chalked up or are passengers so offended nowadays.

  16. I've experienced airasia super app falsely manipulating competitor airline fares just to show theirs is cheaper on the app. Thus serving as a mean of preventing passengers from checking other respective airlines own website for fares. At that time i was looking for the cheapest option to get to CGK. Airasia superapp showed RM375 for AK, while OD and MH priced between 700-900. Upon checking OD and MH site, found both competitively priced around 400-500. You can call it dirty tricks if you want too. Being a smarter traveller, I opted OD for that booking.

That is why we ask - the info is a rehash of the Avolon PR and I am not sure if that MoU has been formalised. The Airbus order and delivery spreadsheet does not reflect the situation. So....

Perhaps still listed as unidentified orders.
