    Delays delays delays.

MH4 was departed around 16:30. Just curious if it will be allowed to take off from LHR due to it arriving there around 22:30 and the subsequent issues with night flight departures.

MH66 seems to have had an issue with a big delay as well and then further delayed by operational issues

Shortage of widebodies, poor reliability of aircraft due to aging fleet and low staff morale from engineers are among all the contributing factors that have led to this issues.

This is what happens when MH is too fixated on things not related to dispatchability of aircraft itself.

Just observed some of the check in desk staff new attire. A majority of them were not wearing the songket outter coat which makes their inner lighter clothes look like Pajamans. As for the Female attire the missing strap or button looks like a cost cutting tactic as the management wont have to resend them back to rescale back their body fitting in the case of pregnancy lol,

Technically not corporate enough but yet not hotel receptionist enough.

Always half baked initiative. Typical of MH.

Their 737 cabins will not affect pax loads cos it is almost the same with other airlines. Seats are getting more and more uncomfortable because the priority is to reduce weight. They just lack imagination in the marketing these days and don't engage directly with their customers. They still rely a lot on traditional sales channels.

In the case of MH they keep marketing it as "premium".

  4. MH will pay the price for their worst decision of all time on the 737NG/MAX new cabin seats. One year down the road they will ponder on why loads are dropping and inability to raise yield. This is what happens when accountants makes decision.

  5. The management of MH appears to be somewhat disconnected from reality when discussing the improvements in cabin comfort and seats for their refurbished B737NG and new MAX.

Perhaps the worst in its class for claiming to be FSC premium airlines

Yes, they will be getting new A321neos in 2024. The current AirAsia Malaysia fleet are all leased, therefore the lessors will make the final decision to scrap them or otherwise. Given the many faults and the cycle that AirAsia has put those A320ceo through, highly likely some of them will head for scrappers. Not worth the money to reactivate them.

Mostly are 9M-AF*, AH* and AQ* which were the first three series to enter service. The oldest current active A320ceo 9M-AFE is now fast approaching 18th birthday. Only four AF* series are still in AK's fleet, AFD, AFE, AFF, and AFV, the rest are gone for good.

I have to say AK is doing a good job when it comes to maintaining these planes. Flew on board AFF few weeks ago to East Malaysia. Interior looks well maintained.  Excellent wear and tear management compared to MH planes that are a lot younger. Considering the amount of flight hours and cycles AK planes go through.

You are forgetting arriving international pax. The area at the current customs checkpoint (which is absolutely useless, all they do is chat with each other and not even look at the screens) is too small for a centralized security check. Queues during peak hour will go all the way beyond immigration.

Have you seen how HKG, BKK, DEL, BOM, CGK and other major airports in this region manage this issue using same floor space area?

Based on pax traffic, only PEN and BKI expansions are justified.

Is the old KUA airport to become a military base or is it going to be taken over by some greedy developer?

Thats right, even the new proposed KXP airport and proposed Ipoh new airport are seen as purely populist political ventures. Not viable at all.

SKS had a very reliable funder. But like Myairlines i think the appetite to keep pouring funds on an empty barrel continuously in hoping the market or something changes into their favor is not really how an aviation business is suppose to run. If the SKS e jet program collapses it may derail part of the gov's plan on SZB unless MAG is willing to stay on and follow up its plan.

Doubt MAG is willing to invest in SZB. Whatever announcements made before for SZB jet ops by MAG was merely running on the hype made by govt to allow jet ops from the city airport. Operating from SZB to routes already operated by MAB from KUL might be seen as cannibalism. The economics of scale might not work.

MYAirline left fleet-less, all 10 aircraft returned to lessors

CAAM confirmed to Business Times yesterday on the deregistration request of five aircraft namely with the registration numbers 9M-DAC and 9M-DAD on Oct 26, 9M-DAJ and 9M-DAL on Oct 27 and 9M-DAH on Nov 3.

The sudden suspension of MYAirline's operations had partly led to the operating loss that SIA Engineering Co Ltd (SIA Engineering) made in its second quarter FY2024 result.

    Pretty much checkmate.

That's a new record. Fastest ever repossession exercise.

Show's how high in demand A320's are in the second hand markets.

Did OD downsized their SZB operations significantly? I was looking for flights and it appears that they are quite prone to cancelations (they will sell you a ticket but cancel the flight)? I checked SZB's history and it seems like they only have 2 flights at SZB yesterday. 1 to KBR and BTH each. And today there are only 4 flights (KBR, PEN, LGK, and BTH).

I heard OD is only operating 1 ATR in SZB right now. Sounds like they are making an exit soon, or rather just keeping their slot in the event of resumption later on.

MH really need a new marketing agency. How can such huge news be posted on a small hard to find press release page? Nothing on socials, front page of their website etc.?

If you are lazy to click, MH will begin offering free WiFi too all pax including Economy beginning tomorrow (01 NOV).

With plenty of seats on the A330/350s experiencing broken IFE's and half past 6 wireless IFE on the 737s. I wont be putting high expectations on this.

Yea, I get what you mean. However sometimes when one has worked overseas for some period of time, one will start missing home especially when one's family is not with him/her. For this case, it was either AirAsia or MYAirlines. AirAsia has spoiled the pilot market with the nick and dime, they even need to buy their own uniform and tie etc. LOL. MYAirlines new kid on the block, fresh out of pandemic with fresh management team etc. Yea, daily fare in the employment scene.

However pilot is now in demand everywhere. No short of jobs for them, but need to move with family though if they are married. More than 10,000 A320neo family and B737 max family will enter service in the next decade. Plenty of job opportunity. The world is their oyster. :)

This is not true, just checked with a friend there. Uniforms are provided by company, and of a very good quality.

9M-FFF will leave MH fleet for FY towards end of this month. It is the last MH B738 in the old cheatline livery. 9M-FFF phase out has been delayed a few times. Subject to final changes.

This is after 9M-MVA arrives around the 3rd week of October.

MYAirline CEO Steps Down Due To Health Reasons
    08/10/2023 11:27 PM

    https://www.bernama.com/en/business/news.php?id=2232843

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- MYAirline Sdn Bhd today announced that Rayner Teo has resigned as its  chief executive officer (CEO), effective Oct 7, 2023, due to health considerations.
Meanwhile, chief operating officer Stuart Cross  will assume the responsibilities of interim CEO, the low-cost carrier said.

“The board of directors of MYAirline will appoint a new CEO in due course which will also be subject to regulatory approvals,” it said in a statement today.

MYAirline said Teo’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in the carrier’s rise since its launch in December 2022. It also said that the board of directors has extended its deepest gratitude to Rayner for hisboutstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to MYAirline.

“We wholeheartedly support Rayner’s decision to prioritise his health and well-being. With an existing robust team of experienced airline leadership, our commitment to our passengers,
    employees, and partners remains steadfast.

“We will continue to deliver exceptional services and uphold our high standards of safety and reliability,” it said.

On its operations, MYAirline said it is in advanced stages of finalising strategic partnerships that hold significant promise for the future growth of the airline and the team has been  working diligently to ensure all necessary steps  taken to facilitate a seamless integration of any strategic partnership.

It also said its operations remain steadfast although  it has been necessary to consolidate certain routes as it transitions from its first summer to winter flight schedules.

“The situation has been further compounded by the delayed delivery of some aircraft that were originally scheduled to be operational by now,” it explained.

MYAirline expressed confidence that the dedicated team and leadership will continue to drive success as it continues to evolve and expand across the region.

Hopefully this ex-CEO cope well and recover.

Again with too many top post executives, C-suites post holders resigning in a span of 3 months. It does send out a worrying signal.

Just curious, but what's the point of code-sharing for these routes ? Understandable if it's routes that don't have direct KUL connection, but most of these airports do have MAG flights to KUL apart from Mukah , Mulu, Lahad Datu and Limbang

So tickets can be sold via FY booking engine.
