  1. For info to those interested and have the means to visit...

    From Thai Flying Club website...

"...09-11 Dec 2010 -- CIVIL AVIATION AIRSHOW 2010 AT DON MUANG AIRPORT -- The last event was very successful, because all aviation business and schools set up their booths in the old terminal at Don Muang and everyone was invited to come and learn about flying in Thailand and all the schools and businesses. It was a good event. If you want to fly in, you can, and your landing and parking fees will be waived…."

So far 50 pilots of Helicopter (R44), Experimental aircraft, Microlights, Paramotors and RC flyers are coming to show their skills and flying machines. 5. As far as I am aware, in Malaysia, there is no problem if you want to build your own airport as long as the airport meets the requirements of the DCA. For that matter even if you want to build a temporary airport too, you may, as long as DCA approves it. The fact that a small fry like me had experienced building a temporary airport in Seremban Two 5 years ago, what is the problem for AirAsia and Sime Darby to build one in Labu. MAHB have no control over private airports. Hope to park my future light GA aircraft in Labu..... :clapping: :clapping:

  6. IMO, better to have the AOR airport upgraded than to leave it status quo. It will be a change reaction thing I suppose with longer runway, better equipped facilities etc... not only it will increase the safety margins for our friends flying into and out of AOR, maybe other businesses could flourish as well, like cargo operations, light business jet, GA and so forth. Go for it Nik.

  7. .... If i was the one in the left seat of the QF A330, I will be fairly traumatised as i did not understand why the plane did what it did, and how it later returned to normal.

Pare, they said it's a one in a millionth chance for it to happen....yeah right!!!

If it happens to you while on the left seat, I am sure you too can handle the machine.

As far as the aircraft systems are concern, engineers and tech experts can come up with theories and recommendations bcoz machines don't have feelings.

For us humans, it is the "after effects" that can be annoying.

    So, be prepared for:

    -higher than normal stress levels,

-over a month of "Sleepless nights in Seremban",

    -stretch of nightmares,

    -insomniac moments,

-jittery feelings when boarding planes and simulators,

-keep forgetting your simple daily routines like brushing teeth, answering phone calls, locking doors, etc...,

-driving to a destination you didn't plan,

-occasional flashes of the event when dreaming of Maria Karin, Pretty Zinta, and the rest...hehehe

    -etc, etc...

Lets pray to the Almighty it will not happen to anyone of us here.

  8. Hope you enjoy flying bro. I've been in KB for 14 Months now and completed all ground school. Its just that the flying is picking up real slow. Up to now i only have 23Hrs, quite far from getting my PPL. But anyways, its true that if you love flying and progress is slow, just enjoy what you have at the moment, because you'll graduate 1 day for sure :good:

it used to be 14 months for a complete CPL I/R with 200 hrs inclusive of twin rating.

  9. On that particular afternoon, the weather there was not quite favorable for training as I was told. All trainees of Asia Pac Kota Bharu who were flying at training areas was instructed to return back to base. On the other hand, the HMA Diamonds also suffered quite a number of maintenance history recently. Probably the old faithfuls like Cessna and Piper should be revisited by flying schools.

  10. Like most of my fellow pilots, we all flew solo ( without instructor) at 18-19 years old. By 20 most were with at least CPL I/R. I don't think age has anything to do with the crash.

Agreed. Most had their CPL I/R before driving license. Nik, you should know the father of the deceased. He is our good friend....I am just speechless..
