"Eagles sending off a frog"

Recommended Posts

The main picture appeared on Sept 3 in a blog. It depicts 2 of the F-16s sending-off Taiwanese Air Force One (738), carrying the president on his visit to diplomatic allies in the south Pacific on Sept 3.

The picture was taken by the pilot of the 3rd F-16 in formation. His g/f loaded the pic to her personal blog. As soon as the picture appeared, Taiwanese reporters were quick to find out the pilot's identity, g/f name, unit, etc.

The picture was entitled "Eagles sending off a frog" (literal transation of "老鷹送青蛙") - Taiwanese lingo refer to the president's green 737 as the flying frog (a joking/rude remark) and eagles as warriors.

The air force has expressed that it is a private act and the titles do not reflect its official statement. However, reporters say he'll be punished severely for taking pics while on national duty.
