Emirates Would Buy 100 A380neos, Agrees To Amadeo Sale-Leaseback Deals

Emirates Airline would buy 100 Airbus A380neos if Airbus decided to launch the aircraft, according to airline President Tim Clark.

In a Bloomberg TV interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Clark said that he visited Airbus in Toulouse late last week to discuss the A380, among other subjects.

“What we have said as Emirates is if you are going to do the neo, we are in for 100,” he said. “Put it on the table—we will start off for you.”

Clark has been pushing Airbus to commit to the A380neo re-engining project, but Airbus has been slow to respond and Rolls-Royce is likely the only engine manufacturer that would provide a powerplant for it.
