Stunt plane crashes in Padang

An aerobatics aircraft crashed Thursday in Padang while performing at the Minang Aerosport Show 2011.

 

The plane was in a vertical climb when it seemed to lose power and fell, before crashing into a rambutan tree at the Perumdam III residential estate in Tunggul Hitam, Padang.

 

Dozens of Air Force personnel, police officers and search and rescue teams were deployed to the crash site and pulled the pilot from the aircraft. He was taken to hospital.

 

The incident occurred at around 5:30 p.m.

Pilot training aircraft that crashed in Padang, West Sumatra,died in the House Sakil M. Jamil, Padang. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Colonel Saleh Zakaria (56),is a retired aviator Malaysia. "The pilot who crashed it Aerosport participants from Malaysia," said police chief Padang Padang Son AKBP Seno,Thursday,June 23,2011.

 

Zakaria was rushed to hospital M. Jamil."He died in hospital because of severe injuries," Seno said.

Trainer aircraft crashed after attractions in the sky. Removing the thick smoke,the plane swerved and then crashing down on vacant land in Jalan Galaxies,Housing Perumdam,stumps Black,Padang,at around 18:00 pm.
